This is a review of the Lenovo USB Type-C Gen2 Docking Station. This is a "universal" Type-C docking station that provides power via USB Type-c. It has 3x USB3.1, 2x USB2.0, 2x Display Port, 1x HDMI Port, 1x Combo Audio Jack, and 1x Gigabit Ethernet port. It supports Monitors: 1 x 4K @ 60 Hz, or 2 x 4K @ 30 Hz, or 3 @ 1080p. I tried to use a USB 3.1 A to C cable, to connect it to older PCs without Type-C, but the dock would not work. My Lenovo ThinkPad E580 has been serving me well, however I really want to be able to use a docking station to hook in to my dual monitor desktop setup, so in this video I will be unboxing and setting up my new Lenovo ThinkPad USB-C docking station. In this video, I take a look at what's included in the box and then set up with my dual screen desktop, and connect a wireless USB keyboard and mouse. Like most Lenovo products, this dock is solidly built and simple to connect and set up. After just a few power options tweaks I was up and running. After a Windows Update roleout (with drivers) on about 140 Lenovo Thinkpads T480S/T490S an error occurs on about 8-10 laptops where monitors connected to USB-C docking station (40AS and 40A9) suddenly turns off. 2 weeks later and many hours of troubleshoot with/without Lenovo support we finally had a breaktrough with some 3 parts USB-C cables. Specs: USB Power Delivery (5 A, 100 W), flettet, 10 Gbps data rate DELTACO USBC-1412M - USB Type-C kabel - 1 m We found a way to get the monitors to work while connected to the Lenovo Dock using this cable connected to the secondary USB-C port/Thunderbolt 3 I need a vacation after this troubleshoot :-) I hope this video will help if you are experiencing the same issue.

With a complete setup, it makes for a truly immersive experience So, what do we like about the Razor Thunderbolt 4 dock with Chroma? There aren’t many docks on the market that have four Thunderbolt four ports. Most top out at three and the third is often rated for a lower speed or doesn’t include passthrough charging. The performance of the dock itself was flawless, we found no compatibility issues after Windows auto-installed drivers and all the connected devices worked as if plugged directly into the laptop. So, what’s the downside? If you’re a MAC user, this dock is only compatible if you’ve performed the Big Sur update.
