Update: I was informed by a viewer that by using connecting power with USB 2.0 to Ethernet (or connected headphones) in the USB-A port, it would work. I have this most recent model of APPLE USB-C to Digital AV Multiport Adapter for my new M1 iPad Pro. In this video, I’ll test to see if it works well, test all the ports: the HDMI port, power delivery USB-C charging port, and standard USB port for data. Test to see if it mirrors my HDMI TV with any latency or lag. If it recognizes my flash drive and camera right away. if it can transfer data through the standard USB without power or charger. And see how much heat it produces. I’m only going to be testing it with the M1 (or M2) iPad Pro 11-inch. There's a quick unboxing. You can pause the video to see the product descriptions on the box. This adapter will let you connect to an HDMI display or tv (up to 4K at 60 Hz) while using a standard USB device for data (data-transfer speeds up to 5Gbps), and charging the iPad. All Three ports can be used simultaneously. It feels premium but easily scratched like the AirPod Case. I always noticed that with an Apple USB-C or even their Thunderbolt 3 connector, when I plug it into a MacBook, an iPad, or anything, I can feel and hear a “click”. While another brand connector, I won’t. That’s my experience Apple cable. The USB-C PORT is for charging, Not for data transfer or video. The HDMI port supports HDMI 2.0 (up to 4K at 60 Hz). Mine is the newest model (A2119) which supports this. While the older model (A1621) only supports HDMI 1.4 (up to 4K at 30 Hz). I have a list of devices that support what in this video which you could Pause to see. The USB-A PORT is for flash drives, cameras, and other devices; it also supports USB 3 data-transfer (speeds up to 5Gbps). Also in the box are Regulatory Compliance Info and Warranty paper works. I want to play games on my M1 iPad Pro, but I want to see them on my 4K TV screen. That means the adapter must have low if any latency or lag--and it works well with less or not noticeable lag. I had tried SCREEN MIRRORING with AirPlay (using WIFI) and mirroring my M1 iPad Pro to my MacBook which is connected to an HDMI TV (using QuickTime)…And I used the Apple Thunderbolt 3 cable, connecting this iPad to my MacBook. It Lags big time! This adapter is without an Ethernet port. And if you could do it with WIFI, then I recommend this adapter for you. Lastly, I notice this APPLE USB-C to Digital AV Multiport Adapter charges a lot slower. I played a game at 78% for one hour, I noticed it only went up to 81%. I assume the adapter itself draws X number of watts and anything that plugged into it. And I Guess depending on how much work my M1 iPad Pro is doing.

In this video, I will show you guys my finding on this adapter. This adapter combines Lightning to USB and Lightning to HDMI adapter into one adapter. It does not support HDCP which means that it will not play copyright protected contents, unlike Apple official one which supports HDCP. And it get quite hot when use for a long period of time, so better ventelation design is needed. In my opinion, despite few downsides it works quite well against Apple official adapter, and it is whole lot cheaper.
