I tried some ways for if is it possible to use old amd phenom/athlon processor and am3 motherboard socket cooler master brand cooler after you upgrade to ryzen processor and am4 motherboard socket. I finally found a way to do it. You can use your old tower type am3 cooler for your new AMD ryzen processor and am4 motherboard using my method. I hope you save some bucks

I have a H100i Corsair liquid cooler, I'm waiting on the new AM4 bracket to ship so that I can install it. I am too impatient to sit here looking at a ryzen box and unable to build it so I found my old air cooler and modified it to fit. Temperatures are 50C idle and 70-80 under load. This is not ideal but should be safe to use while awaiting my bracket. I hope this get's someone else out of a pinch having the same waiting problem I am. Hey, it's better than zip ties :)

This is my second annual and updated tutorial on how to install the hyper 212 black edition from Cooler Master. Just purchased a new hyper 212 from Best Buy in February of 2021 and I've noticed 2 differences from the ones I bought in 2020. The first is 've included a fan splitter so you can add a 2nd fan to the heat-sink. The second isn't so positive in my 've stopped using the plastic clips that attach the fans to the heat-sink and have replaced them with a set of wire now attaching the fan/fans to the heat-sink is a little more challenging especially if your new to pc building or if this will be your first attempt to install the hyper 212. Even with that said, it's more of a small inconvenience than a negative. This cooler will keep your CPU nice and cool! LONG LIVE THE HYPER 212 FROM COOLER MASTER! SCAM4-1000A Scythe AM4 Mounting kit parts and mearurements: Print without resizing not fit, use actual size. you should check the mounting holes for AM3 to be sure it's printed without resizing. The difference is in the dimensions of the cooler adapters that are required and the existing adapter can be modified. The CPU cooler brackets are from my old Scythe Ashura CPU Cooler Scythe normally sells the AM4 brackets but in practice, I could not find one set... There is no way I would buy the new models of their coolers just because I can't find the AM4 adapter kit so we mod the existing one. Hope this helps. Bitfenix and Cooler Master have both shown installation procedures that can actually kill the cooler, while pretty much everyone else has shown some form of sub-optimal installation that will minimally hurt the acoustic performance of coolers. In instances of mini-ITX cases like the Cooler Master NR200P, we've noticed a lot of build photos on forums online (and in YouTube media, but we don't blame the YTers or builders for overlooking this) installing coolers bottom-mounted. This, we think, isn't an issue with the reviewers or the PC building enthusiasts, but with the educational materials provided with the cases. The fact that there is an explicitly mentioned bottom-mount for radiators in a case where it's very likely to be used is a problem, and any case with such a mount should include warnings against installing closed-loop liquid coolers with block-mounted pumps in these positions. Installing a custom loop bypasses this issue, since the pump is almost never going to be in the block, and therefore should never be at the top of the loop (it's more likely to be in the middle of the loop). But AIO CPU coolers should not ever be bottom-mounted with the pump at the top of the loop. Manufacturer websites (shown in this video) also commonly show front-mounted radiators with tubes at the top, which will become noisy as permeation increases, and sometimes can be noisy immediately. AMD Ryzen CPU's Amazon - (USA/Can/Europe) A clear and quick guide to installing a Ryzen CPU and the stock heatsink/fan/cooler supplied with many AM4/Ryzen CPU's. Please note the procedure for installation is the same on AM4 and AM5 motherboards, both have an identical design. AM4 coolers can be used on AM5 boards too. The only difference is the AM5 CPUs are using LGA (landing grip array) compared to the AM4 pins which are present on the CPU. The AMD Wraith coolers come boxed with many CPU's but require the brackets to be removed from the motherboard to fit the cooler which screws directly to the back plate. I just finished installing my Coolmaster Hyper 212x and as you can see from this video there is movement. I followed the instruction: X99 Asus Pro Gaming motherboard, CPU is i5 6600k, I installed the back plate in correct orientation and installed the larger lugs on the front, alignment on the univeral bracket is correct and central pin is in the hole + small pin seems to fit in the small divet. Screws on the bracket were tightened slowly and evenly, thermal paste was applied (tiny drop as instructed) I have built several PC's. Yet still I have movement, I actually reduced the movement significantly by making the backplate screws even tighter. Nothing however has been over tightened.
