Ни для кого не секрет, что Xbox Series S с момента анонса семейства Xbox Series и в плоть до текущего момента, по состоянию на 2022 год является пожалуй самой народной консолью Microsoft нового поколения. Не смотря на то, что Эска уступает в чистой мощи старшей версии Xbox Series X, тем не менее на ней вполне комфортно можно поиграть хоть на 2К мониторе, хоть на 4К телевизоре при этом имея на борту такие волшебные технологии как Quick Resume и супербыстрый внутренний ssdшник с технологией xbox velocity, благодаря чему оптимизированные для xbox series игры загружаются просто таки молниеносно. И все это добро по вполне демократичной цене в 30 000рублей. В общем Xbox Series S стала по настоящему народной консолью и в условиях тотального дефицита как старшей Xbox Series X так и конкурента в лице PS 5, Эска стала настоящим спасением для игроков и входным билетом в мир nextgen. При этом она компактна, имеет отличный дизайн и практически полностью бесшумна. В общем радость, а не консоль. Eсли бы не одно НО! исходный объем внутренней памяти в Xbox Series S составляет всего на всего 512 Гигабайт причем часть этого места уже отдана под систему, и в итоге реально свободного места на консоли всего на всего что то около 360 гигабайт. И что же в этом cлучае делать тем, кто хочет расширить внутреннюю память своего xbpx series s не покупая внешний жесткие или ssd диски ? Что же на данный момент доступный вариант только один - это покупка специализированных карт расширения хранилища для Xbox Series X и S. Данные карты памяти расширяют объём вашего внутреннего хранилища и по сути это такой же супербыстрый ssd накопитель, какой уже встроен в консоль, только в форм факторе отдельный карты расширения, которая устанавливается в консоль. Это пожалуй самый идеальный вариант расширения памяти консоли если бы не одно очень серьезное НО. До недавнего времени единственным вариантом для покупки такой карты расширения - был вариант с объемом в 1ТБ стоимостью от 20 до 25 тысяч рублей в зависимости от барыжности магазина. Сами понимаете , что такой конский ценник сводил практически на нет целесообразность покупки данной карты расширения, так как стоило добавить к стоимости этой карты еще буквально 5-7 тысяч рублей и можно будет купить вторую консоль. Для большинства игроков, кто приобрел Series S это было явно не тем вариантом, на который они расчитывали, поэтому народу все таки приходилось изголяться с перекидыванием не нужных игр на внешний диск. Однако слава Филу Спенсеру и Seagate , последние ближе к концу 2021 началу 2022 года таки выкатили на рынок еще два альтернативных предложения - карты расширения на 512 гигабайт и на целых 2 террабайта. Ну вариант с 2Террабайтами мы пожалуй пропустим, так как ее стоимость будет видимо либо на уровне самой консоли либо еще дороже, да и пока на российском рынке карту расширения с таким объемом еще не завезли, а вот вариант с 512 гигабайтами для многих окажется настоящим спасением в сложившейся ситуации дефицита свободного места на диске Xbox Series S и таким образом докинув еще 512 гигабайт свободного места , Series S практически сравняется по свободному объему со старшей Series X. Данную карту расширения Xbox на 512 гигабайт вполне возможно попробовать приобрести у нас в сетях розничной торговли, типа тех же mvideo или eldorado а гораздо более демократичные 12000 рублей. Да деньги все равно не столь малые, как многие хотели бы за 512 гигабайт, но честно говоря если посмотреть на ssd m2 nvme диски такого же объема и таких же характеристик в плане скорсти чтения и записи как и на Xbox Series, то станет понятно что стоимость такой карты расширения в 12 тысяч рублей вполне оправдана, поэтому такие карты расширения внутренней памяти на 512 гигов действительно могут стать настоящим спасением для владельцев series s. В данный момент правда партию таких карт расширения практически везде раскупили и я был одним из тех счастливчиков кто успел урвать такую память в Эльдорадо и сегодня я вам покажу как такая карта памяти выглядит , как ее установить в консоль и как собственно новое расширение места, будет отображаться в операционки самой консоли. Purchase a Seagate Expansion Card - Seagate Expansion Cards are the fastest and most efficient external storage options for the Xbox Series X|S. But are they worth the price? They handle Xbox Series X | S optimized games incredibly well, so well that any games running on a Seagate Expansion card will act and feel like they're running on the internal storage. That's not the case for games running off an external HDD or SSD via USB. What looks to be one of the biggest issues of next-gen consoles will be limited storage space. We break down the best solutions to solve this without breaking the bank or your data cap. The Xbox Series X comes with a 1TB internal SSD and with the size of games today, that can fill up fast. It's also worth mentioning that the Series S only has a 512GB drive. So, you'll probably be looking for ways to expand the storage capacity for your new Xbox console at some point. And we have some solutions for you. Microsoft is offering a 1TB expansion card from Seagate which works identically to the internal SSD. It's built to take advantage of the same speeds, and it slots right into the back of the console. While it's the best performing solution, it's relatively expensive at $220 (which is fair for NVMe SSDs). You can also use external USB drives, though there are some conditions you'll need to be aware of. You can still use the Quick Resume game-swapping feature for games running off of USB drives. But keep in mind that USB drives can only play Xbox One, Xbox 360, and original Xbox backwards compatible games. You can store Series X/S games on a USB drive but they need to be transferred to the internal storage or Seagate expansion card in order to be played. So, for external drive testing, we used a Samsung T5 portable SSD through USB data transfer speeds were quite fast and load times were very close to the internal SSD. The Samsung T5 is also much cheaper than the Seagate expansion card. Using the Western Digital My Passport, a traditional external hard drive with USB 3.0, things slowed down as expected, but it wasn't too bad. Transfer speeds were reasonable and load times were a bit better than what they were on the Xbox One X. And if you want bulk storage for cheap, this is the route you'll probably want to go.
