This is another how to video that I did on how to reapply new thermal paste on your gaming desktop pc's CPU! There are times when your computer gets hotter than usual and the temps aren't normal. Normally my CPU temps hover around 30 to 35 degrees Celsius which is perfectly normal but they've gotten a little higher like in the 40s sometimes. I tried everything to fix the temps but nothing works. I only had one thing in mind. I had to clean the CPU and the heat sink and add some new thermal paste in there! I'm using the Noctua NT-H1 Thermal Paste. These creamy looking things are used to create proper contacts between the CPU and heat pipes of the heat sink! You can't just put back the heatsink and screw it in without proper thermal paste. I put a little glob smaller than my thumb maybe about corn size. It's not really that hard to do so I decided to show how on this video. In future videos I'll show how to apply thermal paste on the GPU aka Graphics Processing Unit inside the graphics card and also on a laptop CPU. After I published my latest high-end thermal paste comparison video there was quite a bit of conversation around the surprisingly bad performance the GC Extreme from Gelid Solutions had in my testing. The GC Extreme 10g sized jar I purchased just for the comparison video had to be from some bad batch as it had weird low performance compared to how GC Extreme usually has. Luckily Gelid Solutions saw my video and approached me first before I had the chance to contact them. So they sent me a bunch of their most recent GC Extreme along with some other stuff to revisit the topic and summarize the video with proper result from each vendor. On this video I do exactly the same testing using 2 of these brand new GC Extreme tubes by using the same test rig. I did three individual mounts and I ran the same Cinebench R15 test three times with each mount and one 30 minute run in Prime95 without AVX with each mount and I took the average result of the runs to the comparison. So far the performance is where it should be, with the temperatures being within for all of the different thermal pastes in Cinebench R15 and within in Prime95, so can't really get more accurate than that.
