Get one: Read more: Follow me on Facebook: I’ve recently been testing out a bunch of new printers, after going many years without one. Now that I work at home full time, I often need to print something for work, so having a printer, even in our digital and e-document world is very convenient. But for me, that printer ideally needs to be small, and manage a bunch of tasks like scanning and printing in one device. The HP OfficeJet 250 Mobile All in One Printer is a tantalizing concept. This printer is not only compact for small offices, it’s got built in battery power so you can take it on the road if you need to. The HP OfficeJet 250 Mobile All in One Printer can handle almost all your home office tasks: it will scan, print, and copy. Like most home printers, it’s made to be easy to set up, and relies on replaceable inkjet cartridges.  In this review, I’ll take a look at what it can do, what the features are and if I think this printer can be a good bet for your home or mobile office. Size, portability, battery The two key selling features of this printer are its compact portable size and it’s battery powered operation. The printer is just about 15 x 8 x 3.5 -inches big (380.2 x 198.3 x 91.3 mm) and you could actually fit this in a backpack if you needed to. It wouldn’t take up much space in a vehicle or in a portable workspace. It weights about 3 kg or 6lbs. When it comes to battery, HP goes out of its way in my opinion to NOT tell you how long the battery should last. I had to call customer service to ask and even then they were leery of providing a direct answer, saying your usage may vary and merely that it’s “long lived”. I was able to learn this is a 1050 mAh battery and that’s about the size typically found in cameras. From my research it seems like it’ll probably last a couple of hours and may print up to 225 sheets in one go on the battery. #AbT11 It takes about 90 minutes to recharge. Set up process Getting this printer set up was fast. I was able to get it connected to my home Wi-Fi and then able to print from both my iphone and my Apple MacBook Pro right away. In some cases you may need to install a certain printer drivers as I have had to do with a previous HP printer, but this printer appears to work fine with what I have. When it came to setting things up on my laptop, it was a simple matter of opening the print window to print a document, then choosing “add printer”. The HP printer popped right up and I was able to add it to my list of available printers and print right away. Super small One of the great things about this printer is that it is super compact. The paper sticks out the back of the printer (and holds max 10 sheets) so the footprint is actually quite small. There is no printed documents catch tray however, so if your printer is sitting on the edge of a table chances are high your papers will shoot off the surface. But that’s a small price to pay. HP Smart printing app If you want to explore a few more features for your printing, you can use HP’s Smart app. It gives you access to most of the same features as on the device itself, or on your phone, but you can also set up the HP Instant Ink program which will deliver ink to your door when your device runs low. When it comes to photos, you get a few more editing functions too. Battery powered use If you are using this printer on battery power, it’s good to note you can set up an auto-shut off timer to preserve battery life. It does indeed power it down after a few minutes of disuse if you choose this option in setup. When I tested the print quality, I can confirm the documents are clear and legible, with no blurring, or smudging. Photo printing This printer can also print high quality photos on dedicated photo paper. You need to manually load the paper in the back, and you can load just a few sheets at once and it will only take what it needs. Photo printing probably understandably take a while longer than a standard page Overall review Overall there’s a lot to like about this printer. On the upside, the printer is clear, prints good quality, and there’s lots of options for paper sizes, plus photo printing. It was also easy to set up and the app seems to work well. It’s super small and folds up to fit in a backpack, briefcase or car. I’m having a hard time finding the downsides; I guess maybe that it doesn’t print two sized, and the battery isn’t huge. The other downside may be that this printer is not inexpensive. The HP OfficeJet 250 sells for about $559CAD/ $459USD and you can get it from Amazon. But overall this printer works very well and I can recommend it to you if you need a battery powered or small printer option.

While it's not small enough to fit in a brief case it is small enough for bringing out on off-site projects. And while it's much more compact than a desktop printer there are not many compromises. Print speed is fast especially on black and white documents and image quality is about where I would expect a low to mid-range HP ink jet printer to be. It lacks duplexing of course but it's otherwise a very functional work printer for road warriors. This video: HP OfficeJet 200 Mobile Printer (CZ993A) Review Link to HP OfficeJet 200 Mobile Printer: Cartridges for OfficeJet Mobile 200: Printer cable for OfficeJet Mobile 200: Car charger for OfficeJet Mobile 200: Today I’m reviewing the newly-released HP OfficeJet 200 Mobile Printer. Now this review unit was sent to us by HP, for review. Most of the products I review, are devices that I’ve bought and tested. However, when a manufacturer sends us an item, I’ll always let you know. So let’s go ahead and take a closer look at the device. As it’s name suggests, the OfficeJet 200 is an extremely compact, printer that’s meant to be taken with you wherever you go. The printer measures about 14 inches wide by 7 inches deep by about 3 inches tall. And just to show you how compact it is, I have it next to the HP envy 4520 which is a pretty compact entry-level printer. In fact, it’s so compact that it’ll even fit into a regular laptop bag like this one and doesn’t add all that much heft, even with the laptop and accessories, already inside the bag. This is really useful for folks who travel a lot. The 200 shares it’s industrial design with most modern HP printers and is made of black plastic with a sleek, understated design. To keep the printer compact, the 200 does away with a standard closed paper tray and replaces it with a flip open lid which doubles up as open paper tray. The tray also has a paper guide which allows you to load anything from letter size to envelopes and even 4 x 6 photo paper. The tray can hold a maximum of 50 sheets. Opening the lid also reveals the Officejet’s control interface. It has a power button with power and battery charge indicator lights next to it, on the left hand side. In the center, it has a 2 inch black and black and white screen with a familiar HP menu layout and control buttons on both sides of the screen. Now the quality of the screen is actually pretty good and and it does tilt for better viewing angles. However, what disappointed me was that for a printer that costs over $250 dollars, HP had decided to not provide it with a touchscreen. And touchscreens are becoming standard even in entry-level printers, so it’s really sad HP didn’t give this device a touchscreen. Now this is a bit annoying when toggling through menu’s or setting the printer up. Not a huge issue, but for the price, this device definitely deserves a touchscreen The officejet uses two standard 62 series ink cartridges that live behind this flip panel on the front. Now to boost your print capacity, you can always opt for the 62XL cartridges which will almost triple your print yield. And I’ll leave links to those below. What truly makes it mobile is the lithium ion battery pack that lives behind this panel on the back. The battery is removable and you can always buy spares, so you don’t run out of juice when you’re on the go. The panel also has a pushbutton charge indicator on the back which shows you how much charge you have left. The main screen also displays battery charge percentage on the top right hand corner. The battery can be charged using the provided ac cable which charges the battery up from empty in about 2.5 hours. You can also plug into AC power when your battery runs low and use it like a regular desktop printer. The battery also charges in the background, when you power it with AC. Now if you don’t want to carry around your ac cord, you can always charge the printer from a usb charger or usb port on something like a car charger. The charger must be capable of providing 1A of charge and plugs into the usb port on the rear. You will have to shut the printer down, to charge it this way. I’ll leave links to a few car chargers and usb wall chargers that’ll work with this printer, in the description below. The printer also works with anything from 110 to 240VAC, so you can use it anywhere in the world.

This is a common problem with all printers out there. the paper is not fed when it needs to be. A few things can cause that. With this or similar portable printer, such as HP OfficeJet 100, 150, 250, H470, etc, there can be a piece of something small that has fallen into the paper feed slot and needs to be removed.
