Sony E 11mm f/1.8 10Bit 4K Cinematic (Shot on Sony A7IV in Osaka and Nagoya) Finally got time to test out the Sony E 11mm f/1.8 lens. I got this lens back in February. But I didn’t get a chance to review it until the Osaka trip. So in this video, I used the Sony A7IV. As I wanted to shoot 4K 60p. So in 2022, I tested out the amazing 15mm f/1.4 G lens in Singapore. That G lens is such a beautiful APS-C lens. But I found that 15mm isn’t wide enough sometime. As 15mm is roughly about 22mm full frame equivalent. But this time, the 11mm f/1.8 is around 16mm. It is a lot wider. Even though the lens isn’t the G series quality. But non G doesn’t mean bad. Just the auto focus might not be as quick. And the build quality isn’t as nice. But the image quality is still amazing. So the 11mm lens is a bit slower than the 15mm f/1.4. But f/1.8 is still bright enough for most of the situation. Especially the street lights were super bright. Most of the time you don’t have to go more than ISO 800. I used to own the Zeiss Touit 12mm f/2.8 e mount lens. But that lens isn’t as wide compared to the 11mm. And also it is 1 + 1/3 stops slower. So I sold that lens right after I got the Sony 11mm f/1.8 lens. Over all, I think this is an amazing lens. And I hope Sony continue to bring us more APS-C lenses. Don’t just focus on the full frame system. This Japan trip was a bit short. So I could only do two videos. Sony APS-C is back with new vlogging lenses. 11mm f1.8, the Sigma killer 15mm f1.4, and a 10-20mm f4 power zoom that is 1 gram lighter than the 11mm prime. These lenses are insanely light, but do they suffer image quality? Are they the best lenses to vlog with the Sony ZVE10? Does this mean Sony is working on a new pro aps-c body like the a7000? No lens stabilization in any of the lenses, is that a deal breaker? Trying to decide between the Sigma 16mm f/1.4 and the Sony 11mm f1.8? We'll be comparing these two lenses and showing how the focal distance differ from each other. No one really SHOWED how these two focal lengths look in comparison to each other. I would think that people need to actually see the field of view of both the 11mm and 16mm types of FOV. I might do Focal Length comparisons from 11m to 100mm in the future so do let me know if you'd want to see it. Aside from the lens' physical size, that 5mm makes a difference. It truly depends on whether you're shooting on the go, if you're going to shoot a lot more static videos or if you need something lightweight.
