My lens broken (canon 17-85 mm Is USM) body is working with another lenses, the problem occurs at 17 - 35 mm range , i think its about lens chip , but i cant exactly know the isue .. if i can fix i'll post in youtube again .. Update : The problem is defined , its because of breaking the flex cable, inside lens, and solution is changing flex cable or trying to fix cable coint. i cant find it in my country, so i will try to repair. there are sellers in china and hong kong , and its price is 12 $ each . Update2 : I ordered flex cable from china , and it took 3 weeks to come to me. i paid 15 $ total. after i have flex cable , i opened the lens and found broken cable , by the way it was too hard to reach that cable due to its place. after that i removed broken cable and replaced new one. but after i closed lens , it didnt work properly, it still had same error. so i decided to send service and asked for their opinion , and they said it costs 300 $ to repair , so i give lens to my friend and he paid that cost. Lens came after repair 2 weeks later and looks like and works like new. Tested with canon 40d , canon 50mm1.8 , canon 17 85 mm ISUSM Recorded with Canon 40D - Sigma 10 20 mm , sound: Lg km900

This problem was caused by a dirty focus strip inside the ultrasonic motor, so I had to remove the focus strip from the motor, I had to clean it, and then I disassembled the focusing motor and the lens.
