When your toner coverage starts doing weird random things, it could be your developer. This is how you replace the developer, steps are the same for any color. Oem Developers include: Black: DV614K, Cyan: DV614C, Magenta: DV614M, Yellow: DV614Y. The same developing unit/assembly is used for all colors, part number A50UR70244. These can be used in: bizhub press C1060, C1070, C71hc, C2060, C2070, AccurioPrint C2060L, c3070, c3080. The developing unit that I replaced had over 1.6 million clicks. Hopefully this new one will last that long.

This is what a snow day looks like for me. I have been getting c-2803 error, so I want to replace the developer on the 1200. It is pretty simple, just dump out the old developer and clean as good as possible. Then pour in the new developer. Turn both gears counter clockwise until the developer is evenly distributed throughout the developer unit and the magnetized roller. Reset the counter, toner density sensor auto initialize, drum potential, density and dot. Then you are off the the races. I'll replace the drum later when it fails. Challenge 305 Cutter:

Service guys might disagree, but last time I checked I have two hands and a brain just like them, so you and I can service our own equipment too! Professional service guys are still my knight in shining armor though! How to change the developer for cyan, yellow, magenta or black on a Konica Minolta Bizhub PRO C6500. Can be intimidating the first time you do it, but its pretty simple. Obviously if you have a service contract you don't need to do this, but if you are in a situation where you can service your own machine you can save some serious cash by doing this yourself. You can also cause some damage if you do not follow the service manual but it is pretty simple and the more you do on the machines, the more confident you become. It's also very easy to change the drums and coronas too.
