First and foremost, this will factory reset your unit, so any data will be lost.. This will load a NON Cloud Firmware.. I have a Cloud Unit but loaded this on to it as I don't care about the cloud function. Plus I think a lot of it has been shut down anyhow.. This video is to help recover a bricked ix4-200d.. This is what worked for me after many days of trial and error.. Caveats.. It has been said that you must use a brand name USB drive.. I tried a couple different USB drives and they all worked.. Иногда приносят в ремонт блоки питания от ноутбуков. В 99% процентах случаев блоки питания ноутбука умирают по вине пользователя. К примеру: порвал шнур, попытался что-то отремонтировать, и добил работающий блок питания, очень сильно уронил, причем много раз, входное напряжение было сильно больше 220 В (в данном случае в квартире умирает не только блок питания от ноутбука, но и холодильники, микроволновки и другая техника которая сейчас в розетке). Сейчас можно встретить в продаже недорогие блоки питания практически для любого ноутбука. Есть даже универсальные, у которых можно менять штекеры и выходное напряжение. Но как правило сделаны они очень и очень плохо, даже на не активном использовании ресурсов ноутбука (одноклассники, музыка, ютуб) греются так, что темнеет печатная плата. Естественно если на ноутбуке будут играть, или использовать другие ресурсоемкие приложения - то умрет такой недорогой блок питания очень и очень быстро, и будет очень здорово, если он за собой не утащит материнскую плату ноутбука. Эти блоки питания для ноутбуков и стоят недорого, так как они удешевленные до нельзя, а не из-за того, что брендовые настоящие блоки питания дорогие из-за бренда как говорят продавцы...... Лучше попытаться отремонтировать родной блок питания, если не получается, купить в сервисе блок питания для Вашего ноутбука, чем покупать некачественный, дешёвый, универсальный блок питания для ноутбука. My Iomega Home Media Network Disk (Cloud Edition, HMND2) died after serving me for 5 years. I bought a new 2T Hitachi hard drive and followed those useful links to install firmware on it. It works well for one and half years already ( as to Jul 2019). Hopefully this video is helpful to you too if you are having same issue. High level steps to install HMND system to new hard drive based on video: 1. Download file to your laptop which is running Ubuntu Live USB Linux 2. attached new drive to the laptop running Ubuntu Live USB Linux 3. get your hard drive device id using command "cat /proc/partitions". In video , it was sdd. 4. If you are not in sudo mode, please run command "sudo cat /media/ubuntu/Data/Temp/ | lzma -d | sudo dd of=/dev/sdd" It will take about 1 hour to get it done. Actually, "sudo cat /media/ubuntu/Data/Temp/ | lzma -d | sudo dd of=/dev/sdd bs=1M" can make it much faster. 4. In Ubuntu terminal, using fdisk command to delete only partition: fdisk -u /dev/sdd d w 5. Preparing the USB-stick mkfs -t vfact /dev/sdd1 mkdir -p /mnt/hmnhdce-recover && mount /dev/sdd1 /mnt/hmnhdce-recover mkdir -p /mnt/hmnhdce-recover/emctools/hmnhd_images cp /mnt/hmnhdce-recover/emctools/hmnhd_images/ touch /mnt/hmnhdce-recover/emctools/hmnhd_images/reinstall 6. copy from to usb root folder 7. Put step1-step4 hard drive back into HMNHDCE Following steps are not in the my video, but Sxnkl2 has a nice video shows this part in his google drive folder. Check the link at end of this description. 8. Plug the prepared USB stick into HMNHDCE 9. Press and hold reset button while plugging in power cable (use a needle or similar tool) 10 release the button when the activity LED of USB-Stick starts to flicker 11 Wait until HMNHDCE Powers Down on its own 12 Pull out the USB Stick 13 Pull out power cord of HMNHDCE and put back power cord to reboot it. 14 Try to reach HMNHDCE's Web Interface Some Useful Links (Not valid anymore, please check my updates at the end of description): 1. The whole procedure does not need any screw drivers or other tools. It does require to reset the password. Then clear the drivers. After all set up completed, it will take tens of hours to rebuild the RAID5 protection for all of your four drives. This sytem was Diskless when I bought it.
