I used to really love the 35mm (equiv) focal length that I would get when I shot with my original X100. But since I picked up the Fuji X-T1 and the XF 35mm f2, I shoot with that camera and lens combination 80-90% of the time and the 50mm (equiv) focal length has become my favorite. I didn't want to ignore my new X100T that I bought around the same time as I got the X-T1 so I decided to pick up the Fuji TCL-X100 Conversion Lens so I could start getting that 50mm (equiv) focal length, and still have the fun shooting experience with the X100T. In this video I'll share my thoughts on using the TCL with the X100T, and also do a brief comparison against the X-T1 with the 35mm f2 lens. In the video I uploaded right before this one I gave a brief review of the TCL-X100 Tele Conversion Len. In the conversations that I had with other photographers here on YouTube, Facebook and Google+ it occurred to me that I had left out three rather significant pieces of information about using the TCL on your X100 series camera. They aren't things you probably could've figured out or may have already known, but I just wanted to do a quick followup to go over those items. Get it here: 4) The TCL x100ii Teleconversion lens. I love this lens for portraits. It comes in black or silver. Get the second version because it’s updated to tell the camera that it is attached. Taken thousands of portraits with this lens. Just beautiful. About a 50mm FF equivalent. Get it here: 5) The WCL x100ii lens takes your field of view and stretches it to a 28mm wide scene. This is a guide to take advantage of the auto detect feature of the Fujifilm X100F camera when a conversion lens is attached. The first generation TCL & WCL lack the magnetic sensor that the 2nd generation does however with the use of a knife, some tape, and the box the lens comes in you can create your own adapter magnet. Apologies for the shakiness and ambient noise, it was shot on my iPhone handheld at 1 in the morning. I'm a fan of the fujifilm X100 series, specifically the Fuji X100S which I've owned now for a couple of months. The biggest limitation of this camera is it's fixed 23mm f/2.0 lens. BUT, big but, Fuji offer an amazing Fujifilm TCL-X100 adapter, 'TCL' being Teleconverter Lens. This comes in two different versions depending on the generation of X100 series camera you're using. The TCL-X100 works with the original Fujifilm X100 and the Fuji X100S, while the updated TCL-X100 ii version works with the Fuji X100T, the Fuji X100F and the Fuji X100V. The only difference between these generations of adapter and body is the electronic communication between the lens and camera which tells the camera that you're shooting with the TCL to adapt your optical viewfinder settings.
