Want to make custom t-shirts? I used iron-on transfer paper sheets for a surprisingly easy DIY customized shirt. Choose any t-shirt design & print it straight from your computer. See below for more details & check out the design software I use here → Should you use dark or light iron-on transfers? I go over the differences between light & dark fabric transfers so you can choose the one that is best for your t-shirt design. WHAT I USED: - Dark & Light Iron-On Transfers BUNDLE - - Iron-On Transfers For Dark Fabric -   - Iron-On Transfers For Light Fabric -   - Adobe Photoshop - - Bella+Canvas Boxy Flowy Tee (8838) & Flowy High Neck Tank (8809)- - Injet printer - - Computer -   - Iron -   - Scissors/exacto knife -   - Pillowcase STEPS FOR DARK IRON-ON TRANSFER PAPER: 1. Choose a t-shirt design and prep your graphic on a program such as Photoshop (). Add a stroke if your design is mainly white so it’s easier to cut out. 2. Print out your graphic on regular paper as a test. Once you have adjusted the size and design, print it out on the iron-on transfer paper. 3. Cut out the graphic from the transfer paper. If you leave any white it will be transferred as white so make sure your cut thoroughly. 4. Prep a surface to use by placing a pillowcase on it and ironing it until there are no wrinkles. Place the shirt on top and iron it as well. The surface should be hard like a table or hard flooring and make sure it is not heat sensitive. 5. Place the cut out transfer paper with the image facing up on the shirt in the desired area. Place the tissue paper that comes in the packet on top of the transfer sheet. 6. Iron on top of the tissue paper with pressure using back & forth motions & as every as possible. Be sure to have your iron set to no steam and remove all of the water. Continue ironing for the length of time according your the size of your graphic (full page- 2 mins, 1/2 page- 1 min, 1/4 page- 40 secs). 7. Finally, let the shirt cool for 2 minutes and then peel on the tissue off, leaving only the transferred image. & your custom print t-shirt is now complete. STEPS FOR LIGHT IRON-ON TRANSFER PAPER: 1. Choose and prep your graphic on a program such as Photoshop (). You will need to reverse the image so that it is mirrored. Your printer may also have this setting. 2. Print out your graphic on regular paper as a test. Once you have adjusted the size and design, print it out on the iron-on transfer paper. 3. Cut out the image from the transfer paper. Anything that is left white will be transferred as clear. 4. Prep a surface to use by placing a pillowcase on it and ironing it until there are no wrinkles. Place the shirt on top and iron it as well. The surface should be hard like a table or hard flooring and make sure it is not heat sensitive. 5. Place the cut out transfer paper facing down on the shirt in the desired area. 6. Iron the transfer paper with pressure using back & forth motions. Be sure to have your iron set to no steam and remove all of the water. Continue ironing for the length of time according your the size of your graphic (full page- 3 mins, 1/2 page- 90 secs, 1/4 page- 45 secs). 7. Finally, let the shirt cool for 2 minutes and then peel on the transfer paper starting from an edge. & your t-shirt design is now done! HOW TO WASH THE SHIRT: - Wash inside out on a cold water cycle with low spin. - Tumble dry on the lowest temperature possible or hang dry. Thank you all for watching! The CRIO9541WDT White Toner Printer produces full-color, vibrant transfers to make custom t-shirts. In this video Hannah from ColDesi is going to walk you through making a custom t-shirt with the DigitalHeat FX System. ColDesi’s DigitalHeat FX System consists of the Crio 9541WDT, the Hotronix Heat Press, EZ Peel Paper and Print Optimizer Software. The OKI 9541 is a CMYK+W transfer printer. This means it can print a solid white under base allowing you to customize black and other dark color garments. The OKI Pro9541WT, now Crio 9541WDT is ideal for custom designed t-shirts as well as printing transfers for coasters, wood, mug, tile and other hard surfaces. Step One: Use the Print Optimizer Software to send your design to the Crio 9541WDT White Toner Printer for printing. Step Two: Perform the “marrying” step with the A and B sheets of the EZ Peel Paper. Step Three: With the Hotronix Fusion, Heat Press your transfer onto your garment Step Four: Let the shirt cool completely. Then, remove the A sheet and your design is now on your shirt! Making Foil Heat Transfers | Metallic and Neon Transfer Printing Foil heat transfers are a t-shirt maker’s secret weapon. You can produce crowd pleasing, profitable results in no time with the DigitalHeat FX 8432 system you’ll learn more about below! This system offers you the versatility to create full color t-shirts and custom hard surface goods. And that’s what all of our customers do, of course. BUT, our EZ Peel Metallic and Neon Papers offer you a unique opportunity to get more attention and make more money in addition to full color custom t-shirts. Let’s break down some numbers. Foil Heat Transfer T-Shirts for Sale After a quick online search on websites like Etsy, custom t-shirts with metallic or neon detailing are retailing anywhere from $15 to $35. AND these shirts are not really custom the way a white toner printer owner would think about it. Most t-shirt sellers we found limit customers to “your text here” applications. Those types of “designs” don’t command the same pricing as a something like a neon or metallic design would. So comfortably let’s say you can retail custom metallic and neon t-shirts for at least $25 each. Foil Heat Transfer T-Shirts – Costs to Produce Now, each 11”x17” transfer sheet costs about $ each. (available in boxes of 100 pcs) Normally that size paper will produce TWO standard 8x10” designs. We love the full sheet transfers though, so that’s what you see in our video! And we’ll use that in our example as well. One HUGE Metallic or Neon Foil transfer cost: $ The better the quality shirt, the better the image and happier your customer will be. For all of our sample shirts we send out and for this project we used a District Perfect Weight Tee (DT104). This is a premium 100% cotton t-shirt that can be found on for $ a piece. Just like you can offer 8X10 neon designs that only cost $, you can find lower quality blank shirts for ½ this cost if that’s what you want. One PREMIUM blank black t-shirt cost: $ This means with the t-shirt and paper costs it will cost you about $ to make each custom metallic or neon t-shirt. Total Cost of Goods = $ How much can I make selling Foil Transfer T-Shirt designs? The DigitalHeat FX System based on the OKI pro8432WT is FAST. Each shirt is only under the heat press for about 3 minute’s total. Revenues per Hour: $300 Even with cooling time and set up considered, you can comfortably produce 12 shirts an hour using the products listed above. Sale price: $ By retailing each custom metallic or neon shirt at $25 a piece you can make $300 in just one hour! Revenues per hour: 12 shirts per hour X $ = $ Materials Costs per Hour: $ Remember, our cost of the transfer paper + the blank t-shirt is $. So,12 shirts is going to cost you about $ in materials. 12 shirts per hour X $ shirt = $ After subtracting the cost if goods you are able to put $ in your pocket for just ONE HOUR OF WORK! Foil Transfer Printer Return on Investment Here’s the fun math on making metallic and neon transfers: With an average financing price of $242 a month for our DigitalHeat FX Basic Package you can ALMOST make your payments by selling just 12 t-shirts a month. You can produce crowd pleasing, profitable results in no time with the DigitalHeat FX 8432 system you’ll learn more about below! This system offers you the versatility to create full color t-shirts and custom hard surface goods. And that’s what all of our customers do, of course. BUT, our EZ Peel Metallic and Neon Papers offer you a unique opportunity to get more attention and make more money in addition to full color custom t-shirts. Let’s break down some numbers. Foil Heat Transfer T-Shirts for Sale After a quick online search on websites like Etsy, custom t-shirts with metallic or neon detailing are retailing anywhere from $15 to $35. AND these shirts are not really custom the way a white toner printer owner would think about it. Most t-shirt sellers we found limit customers to “your text here” applications. Those types of “designs” don’t command the same pricing as a something like a neon or metallic design would. So comfortably let’s say you can retail custom metallic and neon t-shirts for at least $25 each. Foil Heat Transfer T-Shirts – Costs to Produce Now, each 11”x17” transfer sheet costs about $ each. In this video we are printing FOREVER Laser Dark (No Cut) Low Temp onto a black cotton t-shirt. The transfer has been printed with an OKI Pro8432WT White Toner Laser Printer (using the FOREVER TransferRIP Software) which is pressed onto the t-shirt using an Adkins Pneumatic Heat Press. FOREVER Laser Dark (No Cut) is a no cut, no weed Laser transfer paper for printing onto a wide range of textiles (in any colour) such as cotton, polyester, poly cotton blend, jute, canvas, leather and denim. Print onto T-Shirts, Polo Shirts, Hoodies, Santa Sacks, Leather Jackets, Boots, Shoes and virtually anything you can fit in/on/under your heat press and won't melt between 120°C and 170°C! I've been very impressed with the neenah brand for their quality and how easy it is to work with. This is kinda like a Neenah Transfer Paper review. I also use the epson xp 330 which is a very affordable cheap inkjet printer. Not the best but it gets the job done. I also do a small review of the MPress 15x15.
