Unboxing del TS-453 Pro in Italiano. Notate che le vitine nere che si vedono nella video servono per usare dischi 2.5" invece delle vitine cromate che servono per i dischi 3.5". I dischi che uso sono WD Red (non Pro) NAS di 4TB, l'apparecchio puo usare fino a 72Tb di stoccaggio immagino usando anche i porti USB visto che il record per un disco normale in capacita sia di 8Tb e che essendo dotato di 4 posti per dischi, il totale sarebbe 4x8=32TB interni.

BUY NOW TS-453Be: TVS-872XT: TVS-872N: TB3 Cable: 10GBe Adapter: D-Link WIFI Adapter: COMPANION VIDEOS Which RAID?: QNAP Tech Day: TVS-872N Review: TVS-472XT Review: TS-453Be Review: In-Depth Setup Guide: CLOUD BACKUPS G Suite's Business Plan offers Unlimited Storage: SUMMARY A NAS allows you to connect multiple computers to storage at the same time, they also contain their own processor to do work for you in the background without needing to hog the resources of your current computer. So for example you can get them to backup your data to the cloud and scan the hard drives for errors and viruses - allowing your computer to focus on your work at hand. TS-453Be The cheapest NAS presented here is the TS-453Be which is great as a first NAS and unlike units from other manufacturers it contains a PCIe upgrade slot to allow you to install a SSD/10GBe expansion card when you need extra speed. TS-453Be: TVS-x72XT The current kings of NAS at the moment is the TVS-x72XT range containing the fastest connections built in and a powerful 8th gen Intel processor to handle the fastest performance - yes performance is improved with a better processor. TVS-872XT: TVS-x72N A budget range of the TVS-x72XT which excludes 10GBe and Thunderbolt 3, however depending on the deal you can find - over in Australia I've found them listed at some retailers A$1,000 cheaper than the XT range, so for a value deal you can grab one and use one of the PCIe slots to upgrade to 10GBe yourself and you're set. TVS-872N: WHAT IS RAID RAID0 - Uses all drives to create one large storage space. RAID5 - Uses one of the drives for protection in case of drive failure - so you don't use all your data. RAID6 - Uses two of the drives for protection - better safety, slightly slower speeds. THUNDERBOLT 3 These NAS drives are easy to get up and running, however the hard drives in NAS systems are noisy and the current longest cables you can get are only 2 meters in length, so while it's great for temporary usage, I recommend using a 10GBe ethernet cable with a Thunderbolt 3 adapter instead - that way you get up to 100 meters in length. Cable: Adapter: 10GBe The current standard in performance speed, while you'll only get these speeds with 4 or more hard drives operating at RAID0, with a fast enough processor, it's a good idea to aim for these cables as they go up to 100 meters in length and as you grow out your system your speeds will improve. Cable: 10GBe to TB3 Adapter: thunderbolt+3+adapter WHY NOT A DAS? They hog your computers resources, only allow one connection at a time, and the cable length is limited so they can be a very noisy solution. WHICH HARD DRIVES? I've been using Seagate Ironwolf Pro drives for the past few years, they have large capacities at fast operating speeds. Seagate IronWolf Review: WIFI All NAS systems I've used require a direct connection to a router or a WIFI dongle to connect to the internet. Connecting to the internet is a security risk, however if used cautiously with good security practices, it is great for accessing a NAS from both over the Wifi or over the Internet when required. Upgrading RAM on your QNAP TS-453A? Use this tutorial to do it. Follow the steps below. All you need to do is: 1) Get 2 SODIMM memory sticks (DDR3L - L for low voltage) 2) Unscrew the three screws at the back 3) Pull the cover out 4) Remove the stick inside and replace with new ones 5) Put it back together 6) Pray that it works Keep the removed stick as in case of warranty, you might need to insert it back. Actual repair starts at ~ Do you have problems with your QNAP NAS suggesting that the hard drives are failing? It's possible (or to tell you the truth, even more probable) that it's actually a problem with one or more of the MOSFET transistors on the backplane. In my case it all started with the QNAP reporting drive 2 has failled. I replaced it with a brand new unit, but almost immediatelly it also started reporting errors. I have therefore removed it and reduced the size of my RAID. Unfortunatelly shortly after I also started seeing errors on drive 3 whilst drive 1 dissapeared entirelly from the list of disks seen through the controll pannel (even though on the QNAP case the LED for this disk was green) Unfortunatelly my QNAP is long past warranty coverage and reading on the internet how costly is the backplane replacement/repair, and that this does not prevent the problem from reoccuring I started looking for a DIY solution. Researching the subject it turns out, it's quite common for the MOSFET transistors AP4957AGM / 4957AGM (responsible for the sequential power-up of the hard drives) to fail, in all the different NAS units, in which these are used. I therefore decided to buy these transistors and try to replace them myself In the meantime, taking into account that these are not critical (I was surprised that they aren't involved in any way in the „hot-swap” functionaliy of the disks) and reading into the specification, I decided that instead of replacing these, I will short the relevant pins to provide a constant-on power supply to the drives. Of course I don't recommend this solution and advise that you properly replace the failed MOSFETs, even if it means that in the future you likelly might need to do it again ... and again. As a disclaimer you also need to understand that I don't take any responsibility for your repair attempts and any damage which might arise out of it, no matter which repair method you choose. Ps.
