In this video I do an unboxing of the Asus VX279Q 27" LCD, IPS monitor. I take a look at what you get in the box, the quality of the parts and also what it looks like set up. Asus make excellent quality pc parts, but I was not happy to find out that they do not include a HDMI cable with this monitor. Apart from that, the monitor is a sik looking, amazing monitor and I was still very happy with my purchase. The built in speakers are also ok if you are just doing a normal load on the pc, but for blasting out music or any other audio work, i'd definitely get an external set. However, for me and what I do, they will be fine. Would I recommend this monitor? OH YES. It's amazing and the depth of colour compared to other monitors I have had is just unreal. Make your own mind up. Enjoy. (AFTER TESTING THE MONITOR AND LISTENING TO THE AUDIO IT IS NOT THAT DECENT AND SOUNDS TINNY, SO I HAVE DECIDED TO INVEST IN A SET OF LOGITECH Z-5s SPEAKERS. There are two ways to use the Asus VX238 built-in speaker. You can use the HDMI cable to display the picture as well as the audio. The HDMI port has the ability to receive video and audio. The other way is use the jack. It is a cable with the green jack connection. Once you have plug in the cable, you going to need to open up the Playback device dialog. It is the speaker icon in the system tray right next to the clock / date time. Once the Sound dialog has opened, choose the appropriate playback device. For example it might be "AMD HDMI Output" or "Speakers".

In this video I am repairing my ASUS VG248qe 24” Gaming Monitor. I had blown the speakers a while back and I purchased replacement speakers part number (AW-A1S140A) from eBay. You can usually find replacement speakers on eBay or other such sites. The procedure should be similar to other monitors from ASUS, depending on if there are hidden screws or not securing the frame to the panel, this monitor had no hidden screws into the panel. Also be aware that you do this at your own risk, you are responsible for anything that goes wrong, and you may void your manufacturer’s warranty. How to Mount a NON Vesa Monitor. I finally figured out a solution to not having vesa mounting holes in the back of my Desktop Monitor. I was so close to purchasing a brand new monitor so that I could mount it on to a vesa mount, in the end I decided to do do a quick google search and found a really practical alternative. Using a cheap vesa mount adapter: (amazon Link) and The Hydraulic North Bayou Vesa Mount: (amazon Link) The adapter that I purchased can be found on the Canadian amazon website. I own 3 of these large Acer X203W displays: All threehave big plastic frames.. I figured out that you can remove them and have a nice thin bezel that makes them, I think, as sleek as some more expensive monitors without the cost: Take a look. I hope this video helps some others out as well. I will post links to pictures soon too, hopefully. UPDATE! Here is a video of 3 of these guys put together in a custom stand I built. First attempt but it turned out pretty good I think.
