Then, as the cartridge is used, the bias voltage is reduced gradually down to a lower voltage. For the low yeld cartridge the bias voltage is reduced over its life of 2,500 pages. For the high yield cartridge the bias voltage is reduced over 5000 pages. This is why there are 2 types of reset gear. The page count do not depend on the toner left in the cartridge, but depend on the revolutions of the developer roller of the toner cartridge. For the high yield black black cartridge the limit is 111000 revolutions (6000 pages x 18.5 revolutions each page). The drum unit prints 17000 pages and there are 4 separate drums, one for each color. The transfer belt is rated for 50000 pages, and the waste toner box is rated for 20,000 pages. The drum unit uses a corona wire, not a charge roller.. Most manufactures use charge rollers to eliminate ozone problems, but Brother states that the amount of ozone expelled from its printer is less than 3.0 mg/h so it's not harmful. The drum is cleaned after the image is transferred to the paper by a cleaning roller. This roller uses a DC voltage to attract the residual toner off the drum. After the cleaning roller has cleaned the drum, the DC potential is raised and the toner is then transferred back to the drum, where it is then transferred to the image transfer belt. The waste toner is then cleaned off the belt by the belt cleaning roller and stored in the belt waste chamber. While this is taking place, the developer roller is moved away from the drum so that it is not contaminated by the waste toner. Each time a new toner cartridge is installed, the page count is reset to zero and the printer set the bias voltage to a high voltage. As the cartridge is used, the bias voltage is reduced gradually down. This process is necessary because a new Brother toner cartridge prints lighter than an used toner cartridge. As the toner is used, the print density increases. So, to keep the density level even throughout the toner cartridge life, the density bias voltage in the printer is reduced accordingly. Инструкция по сбросу счетчика тонера (toner reset) на принтере BROTHER HL-1110R, HL-1112R, DCP-1510R, DCP-1512R, MFC-1810R, MFC-1815R 1. достаньте из принтера тонер-картридж, оставив в аппарате только барабанную часть (Drum unit) 2. закройте крышку принтера 3. нажмите пальцем руки на датчик сброса находящийся в принтере, датчик сброса находится в принтере с левой стороны, достать его можно через входной лоток, предварительно удалив из него всю бумагу 4. при нажатии на датчик сброса, удерживайте его до запуска двигателя принтера после запуска двигателя отпустите датчик, и спустя 1,5-2 секунды (не более!) нажмите его вновь и удерживайте до полной остановки двигателя 5. ждем выхода принтера в состояние готовности 6. после этого установите тонер-картридж в фотобарабанную часть Принтер обнулен и готов к печати. There are 3 different yielding toner cartridges: Starter cartridge -- 700 pages at 5% TN420 (TN2210 Europe) - 1200 pages at 5%, TN450 (2220 Europe). - 2600 pages at 5 % The drum unit DR420 (DR-2200 Europe) is rated for 12,000 pages. Fuser assembly haS a life of 50,000 pages. When you instal a new toner cartridge, the bias voltage is set to a high voltage. As the cartridge is used, the bias voltage is gradually reduced down and the density increases. This is necessary because a new toner cartridge has a tendency to print light, and to keep the density level even throughout its life, the density bias voltage is reduced accordingly. Each time a new cartridge is installed, the bias voltage is reset to the high voltage point, and the cartridge page count is reset to zero. Since different yields would dictate different decreases in density over time, the cartridge uses different reset gears. The developer roller presents the good toner to the drum, but it also pick up the waste toner. So, at the end of its life, the toner cartridge is full of waste toner. Failure to clean the toner cartridges properly, will causes backgrounding.
