Synology RS822+ and RS822RP+ Rackstation NAS Unveiled If you have been keenly following Synology hardware and software releases so far in 2022, then I think it would be fair to say that they have been rather business-focused. With many of us anticipating the reveal of a new plus series 22′ 2/4 Bay in their lineup, we have all rather been caught off guard with the number of Small/Medium-Business to Enterprise solutions revealed so far. And today we want to discuss another entry into that tier of the brand’s portfolio, with the Synology RS822+/RS822RP+ Rackstation NAS – a follow up to the RS820+/RS820RP+ NAS revealed back in 2019, that is going to arrive with a familiar range of hardware choices from Synology, but in this tight 1U expandable server. Arriving on the scene oddly close to the similar RS422+ NAS, the new RS822+ and RS822RP+ (same NAS, but redundant secondary PSU on board) is a much more expandable and upgradable solution in a number of ways and follows on from previous entries by Synology in this product line. Gdyby RS422+ miał możliwość rozbudowy pamięci RAM, to pewnie on by był na tym filmie. RS822+ posiada czterordzeniowy procesor AMD Ryzen V1500B. Fabrycznie mamy tylko 2 GB pamięci RAM DDR4 SODIMM ECC. Tutaj dokładam dodatkową kość 4 GB od samego Synology. Serwer będzie służył głównie do wykonywania kopii zapasowych komputerów przez Active Backup For Business w firmie mojego klienta. Komputerów jest około 40. Lekko licząc postanowiłem dać dyski po 6 TB żeby nie było problemu, że dyski 4 TB się zapełnią przez te kopie zapasowe. Western Digital has ben caught again with anti consumer practices on their NAS drives. This time they are marking some of their drives which have had more than 3 years of power on hours as 'warning' within Synology DSM (this is right after their 3 year warranty runs out). This can cause tons of issues within DSM, as actual warnings, such as too many relocated sectors, will go unnoticed. This is not the first time WD NAS drives have had serious anti-consumer behavior, the most notable was them secretly shipping SMR drives as NAS drives. This test is the WDDA test (western digital device analytics) which is throwing the drives into 'warning' after 3 years of power on hours. Hi everyone! If your Synology NAS has crashed due to failed hard drives, here's what you can do to fix it. First, identify which drive is faulty by navigating to Storage Manager in the Synology DSM. The failed drive will be marked as "Crashed". Once you've found the faulty drive, turn off the NAS and carefully remove it. Next, replace the failed drive with a new one of the same or larger capacity and turn the NAS back on. In Storage Manager, select the Storage Pool and click on "Repair". The NAS will start the repair process, which can take several hours. If the NAS still won't start up, try rebooting it or booting into Safe Mode. If that doesn't work, check the power supply, cables, and network connection. If the issue persists, consider restoring the NAS to its factory settings, but remember that this will erase all data on the device. So, make sure you have a backup before proceeding.
