In this video, Pete displays the print speed capabilities of the C3500 on 'Quality' print mode (~2in/sec). This printer is also capable of up to 4in/sec in speed mode, but we love to show off the vibrant color printing abilities. [Transcript] What's up guys, this is Pete. I'm here in the infinitylabelgroup print lab and today I'm going to be doing a quick demonstration on the print speed of the Epson c3500 inkjet label printer... For demonstration purposes, I'm going to be using our DPR label unwinder so that you guys can really get an idea of what's going into the printer and whats coming out the other side. Alright guys, here we have our labels created in bartender. I have each one made up and ready to go, and here we have our form. So all you're going to do in bartender is hit control-print. You're going to select your printer and here you can change your properties. I have everything set up already so we're just going to hit print. Next, our form is going to load. Once our form is up were going to select the material and as you can see there is a live preview of the label right here and we can select which ones we want to be included in this print job- I want all of them to be included. I'm going to set this to 10 copies (which it already is) and just hit print. The job gets sent to the printer (you can ignore this message) and there we have it... In this video, Pete reviews the quick process of replacing the media with both media of the same width, and media of a different width. [Transcript] What's up guys, it's Pete. I'm in the Infinity Label Group print lab again, and this time I'm going to be showing you how to replace the media on your Epson C3500 color label printer. Let's take a look. Once you run out of media on the Epson C3500, your display will read "Paper out" and the Paper light will be a solid orange. If this happens in the middle of a print job, your status light may also be blinking orange. All you have to do to replace this -and in this situation we have our catch tray on so I'm going to take this off to make it a little easier.- is open this latch to pull down the front cover of the printer, and remove your empty roll. If you're replacing it with the same width media, it should slide right into those guides. Pull it up through the front, close the printer, make sure it's centered as best you can, and the printer will begin working. Now that I've shown you how to replace a four inch wide label with another four inch wide label, I want to show you something a little different. Some people have different sized labels, so what I''m going to do now is replace a four inch wide label with a three inch wide label. The process is essentially the same, but this time we're going to use some of those guides that you saw inside the printer to make that label fit nice and snug, and make sure our prints are accurate every time. Our process is essentially the same as last time, we're going to open this latch and take out the old roll. Now, I'm not sure how well you could see it in the other video, but there's a blue latch in here, and that controls this spring-loaded mechanism that holds the roll in place. So this time what we're going to do is take our three inch wide roll of labels, we're going to open that spring, pull the labels out a little bit like we did before, and let it get nice and snug between those two guides. Once the roll is firmly in there, we're going to push down on this latch to lock it in place. This way, the roll doesn't move back and forth, and your labels are consistent and accurate. Again, we're going to pull it up through the top, and feed it through the middle. As with before, the printer will feed out a little bit of paper... Now that the printer has done its head maintenance, there's one last thing we want to do. Before you cut this label off, we're going to lift up (on the label) and press down on this tab. That this allows us to do is move these guides on the outside so we'll be able to get them snugly around the label. Lift that (the label) up again and pull the tab forward. Again, this just makes sure that the label is being fed out straight and that your prints keep coming out accurate. Now we can cut this off, and we're all done. How do I load fanfold media into my Epson C3500? If you've been following our channel for some time, you've probably seen this printer in action, but today we're going to explore some of the capabilities of this printer that we haven't quite touched on yet. The C3500 has lots of features that make it ideal for small to medium label volume applications. Its small form factor, rugged construction, print speed, and print quality, give it the flexibility that it needs to be implemented in countless IPSi solutions. If there really is a downside to this printer, it's the relatively low label capacity caused by using internal roll media. Now, if you've seen our video featuring the DPR label unwinder and rewinder, you already know one of the ways to combat this. But today, we're going to explore the other way- and that's using fanfold labels fed from the rear of the printer. The first thing we're going to want to do is make sure that our printer is set to recognize rear-fed gap media. Once we've done that, we're going to open this rear panel on the printer. Now before you load your labels, take note of this plastic piece on the back of the printer. If you've been using internal media, this is probably located right here. Where you want to keep this plastic piece depends on if you're printing from the internal or external feed on the printer. You're going to want to keep in in the opposite location from where you're printing, so I'll show you how to switch that over right now. We're going to take the plastic piece, and we're going to insert it right here. I know that's a little hard to see so let's do that in a close-up. You'll notice that we have square hooks on the back of the plastic piece, and they're going to go into these slots here and here, so we're going to put it in and then pull it towards us. It'll snap into position and then you can close up the front of the printer. Now that the plastic piece is in position, we can come around to the back and, using our 2" x 4" gloss paper fanfold labels, open this back cover and insert the labels until the printer accepts them, and we can use this blue latch to close the media guides so they fit snugly around the labels. Close that cover back up and you're ready to get printing. Efficiency is the name of the game here folks, so if you want to switch over to fanfold media or if you already have fanfold media and need more, you can always go to to order yours today. If something ever goes wrong, this is actually a super useful tool for us because when we have people order we can get their name and it associates that with a specific order number. So if something is ever messed up we can go in here and we can find their order number in here because its matched up and we can read through (it's one of these) and remake it or fix the problem really quickly. So this figure helps us troubleshoot a lot. Rick: That's awesome. So it looks good and serves a good purpose.

In this video, Pete shows you how to identify when one of the ink cartridges on the printer is empty, and how to replace it. [Transcript] What's up guys, this is Pete. I was just walking through the Infinity Label Group print lab and I realized the ink was out on one of our C3500s. I figured this would be a good opportunity to make a quick video and show you how to replace the ink cartridge on one of our favorite printers. Let's take a look... One of the benefits of the Epson C3500 printers is that they don't need much maintenance. When they do, they'll tell you exactly what they need. As you can see, our status light is blinking here and our display says to replace the ink. Which ink do we need to replace? Well, right above the 'M' here, there's an X, so we know the magenta ink cartridge is the one that's out. I have my Epson C3500 ink cartridge here- available from of course- we're going to take this out of the packaging. Usually there will be plastic around this and some instructions, but for the speed of the video, I just took it out already. We have our ink cartridge. All we're going to do is press the old one in until it clicks and it will slide out easily. That's our empty ink cartridge, we will set that aside. New one- make sure that this is upright and you can read the letters here and that "Push" is out. And that's all you're going to do, push it in until it clicks, make sure it's secure, close the door. However, if you find that there are print lines or your printer is going through excessive head maintenance, you may have to run the cleaning yourself. Now, there are two methods of doing this. The first and most simple method is locate the cleaning button on the front of the printer and hold it for three seconds. The printer will begin cleaning itself, and that's all there is to it. The second way to run a manual head cleaning is through your computer. All you'll need to do is go to your 'Printers and Scanners', and I'm doing this on windows 10, so if you're using another operating system, it may be a little different, but then you want to find the Epson C3500 that you're working with go to 'Manage' and then click 'Printing Preferences'. From here, you can go over to the printer utilities tab and just click 'Manual Head Cleaning'. You should get a screen that asks you to confirm, and once you do, your printer will get started. It should only take a few moments. And then when your printer's done, you can run a test print to make sure that it's operating as intended.

The unwinder and rewinder for Epson TM-C3400 / TM-C3500 printers are used to manage rolls of media up to 127mm wide, while having an outside diameter up to 250mm. The user can select among the adjustable core holder, from 40mm up to 118mm, and the 3” fixed core holder. To guarantee an aligned media path in the system, the printer plate is available to connect the rewinder and unwinder together.
