GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY STAR-LORD WALKMAN TOY! A review of the new Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Mini MP3 Boombox, which looks like Star-Lord's Walkman from the movies but plays like an MP3 and voice recorder. For full review and shopping info► Product Info: Rock the look of Star-Lord with the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Mini MP3 Boombox from eKids. This is a new kid's audio device that also doubles as a roleplay toy. If you know Star-Lord than you know just how much Peter Quill loves his Walkman and his mix tapes from his mama. And now you can have your own version with this audio player. It looks just like the one Peter carries around clipped to his belt in the movies, but it isn’t an actual cassette player but rather a miniature "boombox" stereo. It comes pre-loaded with the song “Come a Little Bit Closer” from the movie, which you can play with a push of the Music button. If you want to listen to your own music, use the included auxiliary cable to connect your own device, such as a smart phone or MP3 player, to play. You can listen to music with or without the included headphones (also based on the one's worn by Star-Lord in the movies—very 1980s/1990s) to get the full experience. Use the buttons on your MP3 device or boombox to flip through songs as well as play or pause songs. On the boombox, there is a switch on the side to control the volume from low to medium to high. On your MP3 player, you have a bit more control over the volume. But beyond music listening, this mini audio player has another feature that we are sure kids will like engaging with: a voice recorder. To use, simply hold down the record button until the light starts to blink then speak into the device. Click it again and hit the play button to play back. It only records short sound clips so you don’t have much time to speak but still can be a fun feature for roleplay, especially when you add in the voice distortion, which kind of reminds us a bit of the Home Alone-famed Talkboy of the 1990s. For full review and shopping info► Product Info: Tackle your next secret mission with the Marvel Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 mid-range and Marvel Spider-Man Homecoming long-range FRS Walkie Talkies from eKids. These are battery-powered walkie-talkies that are given the Marvel treatment. The Marvel Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 walkies are shaped like two fan favorite Guardian besties: Rocket and Groot. The Spider-Man Homecoming features a classic blue and red color scheme with Spidey's iconic symbol on each. There are also fun details like the web-shaped speaker on this pair of walkie talkies. Both sets of walkies operate very similarly. Each features a flexible antenna and simple push-to-talk button. The main differences are found in their batteries, on/off switches and range. The Marvel Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 mid-range walkies require eight button cell batteries, which are included. The Marvel Spider-Man Homecoming long-range walkies require eight AAA batteries, which are not included. To power on the Guardians Walkies simply flip the switch on its back. Turn the Spider-Man walkies on by turning the knob, which also controls its volume. Like any set of walkie-talkies, messages can only be heard when both walkies are turned on and only one person is holding down the talk button. It tends to work best if you don't press the speaker right against your face and instead hold it slightly away, about two or so inches. Neither of these walkies specifies the actual distance that defines mid-range or long-range but, to give you an idea, from our testing the long-range works to about 50-60 feet before we started to lose a connection. Up until that point the sound quality was strong and clear. So if you're in the market for a new set of walkies to help you coordinate your next intergalactic battle with friends or keep your tech-savvy mentor Tony Stark aware of your whereabouts, these might be the walkies for you. Being a big fan of movies such as Spider-Man, Batman, X-Men, Iron Man, Captain America, The Avengers, Evil Dead, Pacific Rim, Aliens, and other films has lead the channel in the direction of also reviewing movies, movie trailers, blu ray releases, and tv shows. News updates for 2016 releases and beyond are also posted. Audience engagement is a big part of this channel, with giveaways and fan mail being read publicly once a week in the PO Box Pick-Up videos. Impressive “Shart-Art” is shared via social media and included in the opening theme song. The audience is also kept up to date with any changes to the channel, along with recent comic book pick-ups, unboxings, and action figure hauls. Stop-motion segments punishing the popular meme of the Big Time Let Down Spider-Man close most of the comparison segments, and are compiled together for guaranteed access to patrons. Lastly, all figure reviews close with a slideshow featuring dynamic poses of the figure inspired by ACBA, with the added bonus of music performed and recorded by ShartimusPrime himself.

Before James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 brings the Marvel Studios’ trilogy to a close, Collider’s Steve Weintraub spoke with the writer-director about an exclusive clip we get to share with you entitled “Naming.” In the clip, we meet three new characters, one of which is the otter we see with Rocket (Bradley Cooper) in the trailer, who share an emotional moment together. During their discussion, Gunn explains the importance of what we see in the clip, who these critters are, how they were brought to life, and how they tie into Vol. 3. All we have to say is, grab some tissues, friends. The minute-and-a-half snippet shows four animals lying in separate enclosures. Their cages are bleak and otherwise empty, save for the hope the four animals share as they stare up at the ceiling, envisioning their future in “the new world.” These new critters are, according to Gunn, Lylla the Otter (voiced by Linda Cardellini), Teefs the Walrus (Asim Chaudhry), and Floor the Rabbit (Mikaela Hoover). A bizarre group of animals, for sure, and Gunn tells Weintraub, “They’re best friends… and I think it's a really beautiful scene with them… where they talk about going outside into the sky, in the world, which they've never experienced.” This exclusive clip is a big moment for the four friends because up until this point, the mysterious “sire,” referred only to them by their assigned titles like Lylla’s 89Q12. We also see that each of them has undergone serious procedures, leaving them with robotic appendages and fixtures to varying degrees. Gunn points out that in Floor’s case, “Her little rabbit legs don't work, they just dangle there, and she's got these big metal spider legs growing out of her, and this mouth plate that is a speaker that her voice comes out of, but she's adorable.” No Animals Were Harmed in the Making of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 Even this brief scene is hard to stomach! Aside from how miserable their surroundings are, it’s clear from the trailers that this Guardians of the Galaxy is taking a dark turn. We knew the end of the trilogy would be tough, but rest assured that no matter what the critters endure, Weintraub was quick to have Gunn clarify that “no real animals were ever harmed in the movie.” He went on to say: "And in fact, I was very, very careful about what we see in terms of animals being hurt because it is something I'm incredibly squeamish about, and people are squeamish about. So I think the difficult stuff to watch in the movie – and there is some difficult stuff at times – is because of the idea of what's happening more than what you actually see. You don't see very much, in terms of violence or harm to animals, but you do see these little animals, the results of which are not the most beautiful, but somehow they're extraordinarily cute."
