This YouTube video is the second one in a series documenting my experiences in importing two electric motorcycles from China to Unites States and evaluating and testing them. If you have not watched the first video detailing ordering, arrival and picking up of these motorcycles, I recommend you to watch that one first for the sake of continuity. First, I would like to provide you a summary of the timeline up to this date, which will also give you an idea how long the ordering, shipping and receiving processes took in my case: 1. I placed the order of these motorcycles from Wuxi Saichi Vehicle Industry in China through on September 4th 2019. 2. They were shipped from Shanghai, China on October 16th via sea freight. 3. They arrived to Port of Boston on November 20th. 4. Two days later, on November 22nd , the container was “devanned”, meaning that it was unsealed in the presence of customs and all its contents were taken out. 5. Three days later, on November 25th, the motorcycles became available for pick-up at the warehouse in Holbrook Massachusetts located about 20 miles south of Boston. 6. However, by the time I paid the customs duties, fees and warehouse charges, it was November 27th, just before Thanksgiving break, so I had to wait until after. 7. On December 3rd, I rented a 15-foot U-Haul truck and picked up the motorcycles from the warehouse. 8. My older son and I did the uncrating and the first ride around our block the following weekend, on December 7th and 8th. 9. A week later things got a bit crazy at home when both of my sons and I got the flu and were out of commission through the Christmas and New Year’s. 10. We resumed our test rides on January 11th, 2020. 11. And the story continues. The motorcycles arrived almost fully assembled, even with full batteries. After uncrating, the only things we had to do to get them road-ready were installing the mirrors and bolting on the handlebars. We discovered four issues during this process: 1. First, the manufacturer had sent us European spec, 220V 50Hz chargers with round-pin plugs. I ended up ordering a correct charger from eBay. 2. Second, one of the bolts fastening the left handlebar to the triple-clamp was misthreaded. I had to extract the bolt and then carefully retap the hole. 3. Third, the speedometer was in km/hr instead of mi/hr. 4. And fourth, my motorcycle already had 68km on the odometer. Since the tires and motorcycle itself looked brand new, I assume that the manufacturer repurposed the instrument cluster from another motorcycle instead of installing a brand new one. These issues I will cover in a future video that will be documenting my experience as a customer with and Wuxi Saichi Vehicle Industry. In any case, here are the clips showing the uncrating of the motorcycles and getting them ready for their first rides. Alibaba is a manufacturing website that has many electric motorcycles, eBikes, scooters, mopeds, etc. from China, so take your pick. This is just my experience with the seller Wuxi Sachi Vehicle Industries. Again, this is a China made bike. Here's the link to the model I got (and keep in mind my with the "R3 style DP Model Version 6" upgraded from factory to Lithium Ion batteries and 5000W motor). Here is the Link, but DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SELLER. He sent me the WRONG BIKE. Again, please do not buy from this seller. Wuxi Saichi Vehicle Industry (and now "Wuxi Jose Vehicle Co., Ltd) ripped me off and won't respond. It is a VERY long process to get one, so if you're seriously considering it, watch this entire video. Группа в инстаграме: Группа в телеграмме для владельцев самокатов: Приветствую тебя, мой дорогой электросамокатный зритель в моем так скажем спонтанном обзоре на свой же самокат, ведь кто как не я трезво снимет и расскажет про все решения и узлы данного аппарата. Конечно же я мог бы подготовится, снять рекламный обзор, и облизать со всех сторон данную технику, но решил что лучше максимально предвзято отнестись к своему же продукту что бы в будущем вы вместе со мной замечали все улучшения и изменения. Местами картинка бы желала лучшего фона, освещения, и качества, но тогда бы обзор на данный самокат вышел бы через месяца 3, как по сути обзор на VIM bike 3, который был отснят еще в начале лета, но так и не выпущен... Хотя и этих самокатов в наличии давно уже нет) Надеюсь вам понравится творчество и мой подход, хотя в будущем я может и сниму рекламный обзор что бы вы смогли сравнить как выглядят два варианта подачи информации, и что увы все сейчас все пытаются продать вместо того что бы подсказать человеку именно то что нужно. Соотношения цены к качеству, трезвый взгляд на узлы, что сломается а что нет. Конечно проще это все завуалировать фразой "я вижу этот самокат впервые и ничего не могу вам сказать про него, как и что будет ломаться". Все решения давно уже в той или иной степени были испробованы и оттестированы, даже в самом китае, а потом только идет к нам. И мне китаец сказал одну очень интересную вещь: "ты нас заколупал придираться, вон в россию мы отправляем самокаты партиями по 25 штук, одна за одной и никто не жалуется всем все нравится" не буду озвучивать что это за самокаты, но их название у всех на слуху. А после мы слышим ой китайцы плохие не учитывают и т.п. а спустя время, вот китайцы внесли обновление... Только вот при заказе каждый может внести свои коррективы если берет партию, и очень жалко что большинству тех мест кто занимается самокатами на качество наплевать, как и на то, что потом потребителю делать с техникой. Тот же цитрус этому в пример, или блогеры, что потом удаляют или банят неугодные комментарии от покупателей, но это уже другая история. Отличия версии 4 от версии 3, 2, 1: 1) Колеса - они стали больше 10,5 дюймов и 1200 Вт указанной мощности на колесо. Это изменение дало более плавный и мягкий ход по нашим очень ровным дорогам. 2) Покрышки - теперь без камерные и имеют другой протектор, это спасет вас от большинства колючек и проколов. 3) обновлённая рама самоката. Теперь в основе контрукции лежит прямоугольный профиль, что дает возможность легко выдержать 150 кг, без постоянных подкручиваний самоката, ведь многие покупатели берут самокат для езды с детьми, и нагрузки часто даже превышают цифру 150 кг. 4) обновлённая задняя подвеска. В вим 2,3 были нарекания на слишком мягкую для наших дорог подвеску, при весе свыше 80 кг. Теперь подвеска стала более жесткой, и можно с легкостью ставить пневмо амортизаторы. А так же подвеска выполняет роль удобной ручки для переноса. 4) вольтаж 60, ампераж 21,5 что дает самокату прирост мощности (сам не ожидал на сколько резвым получится самокат) 5) вес 34 кг, из за усиления конструкции самокат набрал веса. 6) более крупные контроллеры, и предохранители в батареи. Мелочь а важно и приятно, при большем размере контроллер лучше охлаждается, и меньшая вероятность его спалить под нагрузкой. А предохранители в батареи защищают всю систему в целом, и являются доп защитой между звеном контроллера и бмс 7) стальной механизм складывания, не путайте с силюминивым, что лопается... данный механизм является более надежной версией прошлого варианта, и может служить дольше, при этом легче в использовании. 8) изменённый дисплей. Теперь наконец-то вам будет видно с какой скоростью вы едите, т.к. на цветных дисплеях увы в солнечную погоду не было видно - ничего. 9) это конечно же общий вид, красные амортизаторы и тормозные суппорта добавляют эстетики данному самокату

This video is first in a series documenting my experiences in importing two electric motorcycles from China to Unites States and evaluating and testing them. If you have watched some of my other YouTube videos, you may guess that I really like older Japanese sport motorcycles as well as Chinese scooters. What these two categories – older Japanese motorcycles and Chinese scooters – have in common is that they are inexpensive as well as easy to work on or modify. And you can find a ton of spare and aftermarket parts for them on eBay. About a year ago, in early 2019, I started getting intrigued with electric motorcycles, such as Zero and Lightning. However, when I started doing a bit of research on the different brands, models and prices of all electric motorcycles available in the U.S., I quickly realized that there was a big gap between the really expensive, premium brands and the no-name, low cost models that looked like toys. Many of the cheap ones were actually toys not suitable to be ridden on the roads or in traffic. Others were mini-size models with 12-inch wheels. What I have been searching for was a full-size electric motorcycle that I could ride to and from work or around my neighborhood on city streets and on urban backroads. I also wanted to provide my older son, who is in high school, a soft-start in full-size motorcycles. My price point was between 1500 and 3000 US dollars. I was looking for something with a range between 20 to 40 miles. And in terms of registering it, my preference was to be able to register it as a Moped in Massachusetts. Here, Mopeds are allowed to be operated on the streets as well as in bike lanes and they do not require a motorcycle endorsement. However, a Moped: 1. Should have a cylinder capacity of no more than 50 cubic centimeters: well, an electric motorcycle has a cylinder capacity of effectively 0 cubic centimeters. 2. Should have an automatic transmission: I think with a direct motor and no gears, it is safe to consider an electric motorcycle as being automatic. 3. Should be capable of a maximum speed of no more than 30 miles per hour: now this could be tricky, but I thought if I could get the lowest-power model, its top speed should be lower than 30 miles per hour. Unfortunately, I was not able to find an electric motorcycle with these requirements in the U.S. Then I started looking at the listings on the site. There were so many manufacturers with so many models and options. In addition, I had absolutely no idea about the importing process and what it entailed. I started reading books about importing from China, watched related videos on YouTube, browsed through U.S. Customs and NHTSA websites, searched through Harmonized System (or HS) codes and tariff schedules for electric motorcycles, and read through websites of online customs agents for information. Meanwhile, I was trying to figure out which electric motorcycle manufacturers in China were the top ones. I created an account on . Then I reached out to four manufacturers that I thought were top tier. Long story short, I ordered two R3 model electric motorcycles from Wuxi Saichi Vehicle Industry on September 4th 2019. They looked like Yamaha R3 sportbikes. I ordered a red one for my son and a gray/black one for me. They both looked gorgeous and super-fast in the pictures, however they were of the lowest specifications: 2000W hub motors and 72V 20Ah capacity lead acid batteries. Again, my goal was to be able to register them as Mopeds. Unbeknownst to me, YouTuber “The Inja” has posted his first video about the new Electric Motorcycle he bought from China through on this very same day. And he ordered it from, DRUMROL PLEASE, Wuxi Saichi Vehicle Industry. And he had quite a bit of trouble with his order. I wish I had seen his video before I placed my order. If I had, I may have selected one of the other manufacturers. Oh well, this is the material for another story. I will cover my experiences with Wuxi Saichi in a future video and compare it to The Inja’s experiences. In this first video, I am going to show you some footage from the day I took delivery of the two electric motorcycles three months after I placed the order. After arriving to the Port of Boston and clearing the customs, my cargo was sent to a warehouse in Holbrook Massachusetts, which is located about 20 miles south of Boston. I rented a 15-foot U-Haul truck and drove it 25 miles to and from the warehouse in the middle of a Nor’easter snow storm in December. I got the motorcycles and myself safely home, but unloading them by myself was a challenge. In hindsight, I should have waited for my older son to return from school, but I was too impatient.
