Blisters are painful and irritating, but many can be treated at home by following these simple steps.
Step 1: Wash hands
Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water before touching blisters so they don't become infected.
Step 2: Disinfect blister
Disinfect the blister by swabbing it gently with rubbing alcohol or iodine.
Tip
Some blisters pop on their own, but if you have a large blister, or if it's in an uncomfortable spot, break and drain it to release the pressure.
Step 3: Sterilize needle
Sterilize a needle with soap and water or rubbing alcohol.
Step 4: Break blister
Break the blister by poking a small hole near its edge with the sterilized needle.
Step 5: Wash blister
Wash the blister with soap and water and pat it dry with sterile gauze.
Step 6: Smooth flap
Gently smooth down the flap of blister skin. Do not remove it.
Step 7: Apply ointment
Apply antibiotic ointment to the popped blister, and cover it with a loose bandage or gauze.
Tip
Blisters on the bottoms of the feet or other locations that experience a lot of pressure are best treated by applying a donut-shaped moleskin pad that leaves the blister itself uncovered.
Step 8: Tape bandage
Tape the bandage securely, but loosely, using sterile tape. Do not allow tape to touch the blister and do not tape too tightly, as that could cut off blood supply.

Guide to Contagious skin Rashes
1-Impetigo
Young kids often get this bacterial infection on their face and hands in the summer. The sores start out red and wet, then form a honey-colored crust. It's easily spread by touch, either from the sores directly or items they've touched, like clothing and toys. Antibiotic cream, loosely covering sores, and lots of cleaning can stop the spread. To help prevent it, wash any broken skin -- scrapes, cuts, and insect bites -- right away.
2-Ringworm
It's not a worm at all. It's a fungus that thrives in damp, warm places on and around your body: hair, nails, skin, floors, walls, clothes, and towels, for starters. The ring-shaped splotches of dry, itchy skin it causes can burn and sting. Ringworm is responsible for "athlete's foot" and "jock itch." Antifungal creams and pills help get rid of it, but sometimes it comes back in the same place.
3-Molluscum Contagiosum
You can get these small raised bumps almost anywhere, but rarely on your palms or the bottom of your feet. Scratch or rub them, and you could spread the virus to other places on your skin or to someone else. It also transfers onto things like towels and sports equipment. The bumps will typically go away within a year, but it may take as long as 4 years. Your doctor can remove them if they bother you or you have a weak immune system.
4-MRSA
An infection with this type of staph bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus) could be serious because most antibiotics can't kill it, and it could spread to other parts of your body. It may look like small sores, large bumps, or a swollen cut with pus inside. To avoid passing it, wash your hands often, keep cuts and sores covered, don't share personal items like towels and razors, and use the hottest washer and dryer settings possible.
5-Chickenpox and Shingles
The itchy spots, your spit, and even the air can spread the virus, so stay home until the blisters crust over. Though you get chickenpox only once, the virus lives on in your body. It may reappear as shingles when you're older. You can't get shingles from someone, but that rash could give someone chickenpox if they haven't had it. There are vaccines to prevent chickenpox in children and adults, and a shingles vaccine for people over 50.
6-Folliculitis
When bacteria or fungi travel down your body hairs, they can infect the tiny pockets, called follicles, at the roots. The result is red, itchy, even painful, bumps or pus-filled blisters. You can get folliculitis from a skin injury; an infected person's razor, towels, or washcloth; or even from a dirty hot tub. If it doesn't clear up on its own in a couple of days, see your doctor.
7-Cold Sores
These painful "fever blisters" on your lip or mouth come from the herpes type 1 virus (HSV-1). Most people get it as kids from the spit of someone infected. Sores usually get better on their own, but your doctor may prescribe antiviral pills or creams to help you heal faster. Even so, the virus stays in your body and could cause outbreaks when you're sick, anxious, or overtired.
8-Scabies
The human itch mite burrows into the upper layer of your skin. Your body responds with itchy pimples. The tiny critters spread easily in crowded living spaces, by touching another person's skin, and from clothes, sheets, and furniture. You'll need to see your doctor. Medicines can get rid of the mites, ease the itch, and clear up an infection if you have one. It can take up to 4 weeks, and you may need to repeat the treatment.
9-Hand-Foot-and-Mouth Disease
Not everyone has symptoms. But after a fever and sore throat, you could get sores in your mouth that turn into blisters, perhaps followed by red spots on your palms, the soles of your feet, and maybe your bottom. This virus usually affects kids under 5, but anyone can get it from an infected person's spit, snot, poop, or blister fluid. Adults who don't get sick could still pass the virus, and even after symptoms are gone, you could infect others.
10-Poison Ivy
Like its cousins poison oak and poison sumac, this plant has an oily sap (urushiol) that may trigger an allergic reaction. The red, swollen, itchy rash can turn bumpy and form blisters that ooze. Your skin absorbs urushiol quickly and won't be contagious, but things you were wearing or using when you touched the plant, like garden tools, shoes, and bouncing balls, could spread the oil and cause a rash on someone else. Chronic vesicular or bullous dermatosis is seen mainly in elderly patients. Clinically there are two types or stages of lesions: erythematous macules to urticarial
plaques which eventually evolve into blisters, and the well established vesicular stage
with tense, often intact bulla that can measure several centimeters in diameter and
contain a clear fluid and may be present on an erythematous or nonerythematous
base Це відео автоматично взято із YouTube за назвою товару, можливий неправильний пошук.

Blistering diseases of the skin range from the autoimmune to the inflammatory. Here are a few conditions you want to be able to recognize.
The first is Allergic Contact Dermatitis, a cell-mediated delayed (type IV) hypersensitivity reaction. This often presents as a dermatitic eruption but certain allergens more often cause blistering – poison ivy, for example. ACD can also be caused by other allergens, plant based or otherwise. These patient’s present with tense, localized, pruritic blisters – usually on the extremities and sometimes in a linear pattern. These can occur in as little as 30 minutes after exposure. Treatment includes oral steroids and topical corticosteroids for the affected areas.
The second are autoimmune blistering conditions. Bullous Pemphigoid (BP) is seen in elderly patients and presents as a more generalized eruption of tense and very pruritic bullae on a background of urticarial or normal skin. The bullae can be hemorrhagic and some might be crusted.
Pemphigus vulgaris (PV) presents as a generalized eruption of flaccid blisters. The age of this patient population varies and lesions in PV more commonly affect the mucous membranes (though this can be seen in both conditions).
Patients with BP or PV can have many comorbidities and may require immunosuppressive therapy for treatment. Urgent referral to a dermatologist is recommended.
Finally Erythema Multiforme (EM) and Stevens Johnson Syndrome (SJS) are two conditions that can present as a bullous eruption often on a background of erythematous skin. The palms and soles may be involved. Both conditions can have significant mucosal erosions and the skin be pruritic or painful.
In EM, the background erythema is target-like and the underlying cause is often a viral infection, in most cases HSV.
In SJS, the background erythema can become dusky and rapidly coalesce. SJS is very serious and patients are typically treated in intensive care or burn units. Medications are often the cause of SJS. A few that are more commonly implicated include anticonvulsants, allopurinol, antibiotics, and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. Why Does Skin Blister | How To Treat & Prevent Skin Blisters Naturally
Why does skin blister | how to treat skin blisters
About blisters
Blisters are small pockets of fluid that usually form in the upper layers of skin after it's been damaged. Blisters can develop anywhere on the body but are most common on the hands and feet.
Fluid collects under the damaged skin, cushioning the tissue underneath. This protects the tissue from further damage and allows it to heal.
Most blisters are filled with a clear fluid but may be filled with blood or pus if they become inflamed or infected.
What causes blisters?
Blisters can be caused by:
• friction to the skin
• heat – for example, from sunburn or a scald
• contact with chemicals, such as detergent
• medical conditions, such as chickenpox
Treating blisters
Most blisters heal naturally after three to seven days and don't require medical attention.
It's important to avoid bursting the blister, because this could lead to an infection or slow down the healing process.
If the blister does burst, don't peel off the dead skin. Instead, allow the fluid inside the blister to drain and cover the area with a dry, sterile dressing to protect it from infection until it heals.
When to see your DOCTOR
See your DOCTOR if you have blisters that:
• you think are infected
• are very painful
• keep coming back
An infected blister will be filled with yellow or green pus and may be painful, red and hot.
It's important not to ignore an infected blister because it could lead to secondary a contagious bacterial infection of the skin and further complications, such as cellulitis or sepsis.
You should also talk to your doctor if you have blisters in unusual places, such as on your eyelids or inside your mouth, or if they appear after severe sunburn, burns or scalds or an allergic reaction, or after coming into contact with chemicals or other substances.
Preventing blisters
There are a number of things you can do to avoid getting blisters caused by friction, sunburn or chemicals. For example, you can:
• wear comfortable, well-fitting shoes
• help keep your feet dry with thicker socks or talcum powder
• wear gloves when handling chemicals
• use sunscreen
How you can treat a blister yourself
To relieve any pain, use an ice pack (or a bag of frozen vegetables wrapped in a towel) on the blister for up to 30 minutes.
To protect the blister and help prevent infection:
Do
• cover blisters that are likely to burst with a soft plaster or dressing
• wash your hands before touching a burst blister
• allow the fluid in a burst blister to drain before covering it with a plaster or dressing
Don't
• do not burst a blister yourself
• do not peel the skin off a burst blister
• do not pick at the edges of the remaining skin
• do not wear the shoes or use the equipment that caused your blister until it heals
A pharmacist can help with blisters
To protect your blister from becoming infected, a pharmacist can recommend a plaster or dressing to cover it while it heals.
A hydrocolloid dressing can help reduce pain and speed up healing.
Finally If you regularly get friction blisters on your feet:
• try wearing comfortable, well-fitting shoes
• gradually break in new shoes
• wear thicker wool socks during exercise
• dust talcum powder in your socks if you get sweaty feet
• wear protective gloves when you exercise or if you use tools at work

How to Tell If a Skin Rash Is Serious | Beautiful Skin
Watch more How to Have Beautiful Skin videos:
Hi, I'm Dr. Elissa Lunder. I've been practicing dermatology at Dermatology Partners in Wellesley, Massachusetts for the past 10 years. I believe that skin care doesn't have to be complicated. With a few simple steps you can have beautiful skin. You can visit Dermatology Partners on the web at . So today we're gonna talk about skin care. Most skin rashes are not serious; however, there are few Dermatology Emergencies, which you do want to seek medical attention sooner than later. One of the most common ones we see in our office is Shingles or Herpes Zoster. Shingles or Herpes Zoster is when you start feeling a burning pain or tingling and development of blisters usually in a line and just on one side of the body. Shingles is a reactivation of the chicken pox virus and it tends to be redness, pain, or itch and eventually blisters that you develop anywhere in your body and it typically forms a line and it does not cross the midline of your body. They can be especially serious if you develop this near the eye area as it can cause blindness. So, if you think or have any sort of suspicion that you could have Shingles you want to call your doctor immediately. With Shingles if you treat it within 48 hours, you can have much less long-term sequelae than if you wait for treatment. The other main Dermatology Emergency that we see that can be serious or drug rashes and drug rashes can happen from anything. They can happen from herbal supplements, from vitamins, from Tylenol with most in common medication that causes a drug rash or antibiotics. The rashes typically start after you have been on the medication for a few days and the rash can be redness that you can develop anywhere on your body. Drug rashes that are extensive can cover you from head to toe. If you develop blisters with this rash that is when it can get serious. So, if you start developing blisters in your mouth or your genital area, you want to call your doctor immediately in addition to stopping the medication. So, if you develop the skin rash that causes swelling or difficulty breathing, you want to call 911. Це відео автоматично взято із YouTube за назвою товару, можливий неправильний пошук.

"Poison sumac is a woody shrub or small tree growing to 7 m (20 ft) tall.[1] All parts of the plant contain a resin called urushiol that causes skin and mucous membrane irritation to humans."

Here you can see my own pain as a welting blister forms on my wrist from contact with a poison sumac tree. This blister is filled with yellow puss. If I break it, not only would I risk an infection, it will cause the sumac to spread.
Even though I was told that sumac is not native to Akron ohio, its all over my yard. Over the past two years I have been poisoning the sumac in an attempt to get rid of it. While attempting to pull up the sumac trees I discovered that the roots from a 20ft tall sumac tree have grow about 10ft out across the yard.
What you see in this clip is not that bad. Last year when I first found the sumac I had to get a shot of antibiotics from the doc!
Right now I am treating this rash with Tecnu maximum strength calagel. Tecnu maximum strength calagel available through my Amazon Affiliate link:
Update! I hired Goats to come and remove the poison sumac!:

#Shingles, also known as zoster or herpes zoster, is a viral disease characterized by a painful skin rash with blisters in a localized area.[2][6] Typically the rash occurs in a single, wide mark either on the left or right side of the body or face.[1] Two to four days before the rash occurs there may be tingling or local pain in the area.[1][7] Otherwise, there are typically few symptoms though some people may have fever or headache, or feel tired.[1][8] The rash usually heals within two to four weeks;[2] however, some people develop ongoing nerve pain which can last for months or years, a condition called postherpetic neuralgia (PHN).[1] In those with poor immune function the rash may occur widely.[1] If the rash involves the eye, vision loss may occur.[2][9]

A rash is a change of the human skin which affects its color, appearance, or texture.
A rash may be localized in one part of the body, or affect all the skin. Rashes may cause the skin to change color, itch, become warm, bumpy, chapped, dry, cracked or blistered, swell, and may be painful. The causes, and therefore treatments for rashes, vary widely. Diagnosis must take into account such things as the appearance of the rash, other symptoms, what the patient may have been exposed to, occupation, and occurrence in family members. The diagnosis may confirm any number of conditions. The presence of a rash may aid diagnosis; associated signs and symptoms are diagnostic of certain diseases. For example, the rash in measles is an erythematous, morbilliform, maculopapular rash that begins a few days after the fever starts. It classically starts at the head, and spreads downwards. I was working in a heavily infested poison-ivy flower bed for about an hour. I apparently failed to clean my watch afterward, because I think this is what prolonged and perpetuated the exposure, thus allowing my skin reaction.
The blisters popped up a few days after the flower bed work and are still itchy a week later.
