Newly developed Advanced Pulse Frequency signal transmission technology uses a digital switch signal instead of the usual current signal to greatly increase reliability. Combined with the patented mechanical switches this allows Fenix to create a smaller, more efficient light that is much less prone to switching interference than a similar magnetic tail cap system, whilst offering extreme brightness. Fully press the tactical tail switch to constantly turn on the light, fully press again to turn off the light. Mode Switching: In any state, rotate the splined rotary switch clockwise to the limit to enter Tactical Mode, rotate the switch anti clockwise to the limit to enter Duty Mode, or to the middle to enter Lockout Mode. Output Selection: Tactical Mode: Turbo brightness and instant Strobe. Lightly press the Tactical tail switch to momentarily turn on the light at maximum output, release to turn off. Fully press the switch to lock the light at maximum output level. Press and hold the switch for 0.8 seconds to enter Strobe Mode. Tap the switch to return to High output level. Fully press the switch to turn off the light. Duty Mode: Eco - Low - Mid - High brightness and Strobe available. Tap the Tactical tail switch repeatedly to cycle between Eco - Low - Mid - High. Fully press the switch to lock on the selected output level. Tap the switch to select another output level. (Level will be memorized). Press and hold the switch for 0.8 seconds to enter Strobe Mode, tap the switch to return to the previous output level. Fully press and release the switch to turn off the light. Instant Strobe: Activate from the on or off off position in either Tactical or Duty Mode by fully pressing the switch for 0.8 seconds. Fully press again to exit Strobe. Lock/ Unlock: Lock - With the light switched on, rotate the rotary switch to the middle to lock the chosen output level constantly on. At this time the Tactical switch is locked and no further levels can be selected. With the light switched off, rotate the rotary switch to the middle to lock the light in the off position, preventing accidental operation. This has a really good beam on it. The eye sees better than either camera I tried recording, but the bodycam won, so this is the footage I am showing. The light can easily see at farther distances but I run into issues getting the cameras to see that far. That said, I think this night footage demonstrates well how tight and crazily bright the hotspot is, while providing good spill for close range navigation. You'll get likely much more life using the new 21700 battery than you will using an 18650 one. Remember no batteries are supplied with the light.

From This is a tactical flashlight with 1600 lumens, built for reaching out and seeing a target at a distance. I like a good "thrower" light to see at a distance and this one is THE best ever in the Fenix line that I am aware of, in this size light. It has 4 modes, very good runtimes and lets you use 18650 batteries if you have them, using the supplied plastic converter sleeve or the more modern and more powerful 21700 battery type which is required if you want full runtimes. This flashlight does not come with any batteries. It must be used with ONLY a 21700 or 18650 battery. DO NOT USE CR123 BATTERIES!!!!! This is some supplemental night time outdoor footage at about as good of a range as I can capture with my camera. There was some smoke in the air which did drop by a little bit, the distance I might otherwise have been able to see, even with my eyes. However this does show you the beam tightness and give you a good idea of how it may perform, given it's 400 meter best conditions range specification.
