After almost an eternity I am in the process of making the TS-673 my principle NAS. Watch the video to find out why. 20191018 update. Today I managed to get the 10Gbe network working and my first test using the ancient Total Commander program (it preserves all the filename dates and times thank you) gave me sustained speeds of 500MB/second. Wahoo!

Review of the New QNAP TS-873AU Ryzen Powered NAS Drive – Worth your Data? When it comes to packaged NAS hardware, QNAP is leaps and bounds ahead of the competition. These two examples help prove the point, the TS-h1290FX 12-bay NVMe NAS and the TBS-h574TX 5-bay SSD NAS are some of the coolest NAS designs in the market. The 12-bay system even has a ton of power, with the AMD EPYC CPU, plenty of DRAM and 25GbE on the back end. These units even support GPUs, which is pretty slick - we'll show this NAS running AI workloads in an upcoming article and video. The 574TX is innovating thanks to its support for E1.S enterprise SSDs. While this is less a performance story with 10GbE and Thunderbolt 4 as the primary data access paths, the system design is amazing in its own right. Sure, you can build your own NAS on server hardware and if you're a homelabber or have the right support in place, that's a great option. Less about the fact it was going to feature 5Gbe, but more because the remarkably popular TVS-x72XT series was going to arrive in a version that did not include Thunderbolt3 or 10GBe. Despite these two forms of NAS connectivity being heavily supported by QNAP NAS, there were ALOT of users who wanted a NAS like these, but planned on focusing on the INTERNAL capabilities and could not budget/justify the TVS-672XT. So, now, with the release of the TVS-672N, we have the means to access the 8th Gen Intel CPU, NVMe SSD Bays, DDRR Memory, HDMI and more, and at a much more attractive price point to many users. However, the other reason we were so interested was that the TVS-672N was the latest NAS Drive to benefit from QNAP’s current moves into 5Gbe Network connectivity.
