This feature can prevent danger caused by high temperatures. This lightweight flashlight features up to 25 hours runtime in Eco mode and with the built-in type-C Charging port, the battery can be fully charged for an approximately four hours from a depleted state. It has also an accurate and reliable battery status through the LED read-out indicators. This durable flashlight features IP68 Rated protection, is impact resistant to a 1-meter drop on all 6 sides and can withstand bitter cold and extreme heat. The light will operate normally in temperatures ranging from -35 degrees Celsius/ -31 degrees Fahrenheit to 45 degrees Celsius/ 113 degrees Fahrenheit. It's like hiking with headlights in front of you. Distance of flood light is excellent. You can see close and far. Throw is going to be the less used of the modes for most people and situations Highest level of flood is extremely hot even after down shift. Doesn't create much heat for lower levels which one would use most of the time Entire flashlight will get hot with the head being too hot to touch Throw mode is only useable for long distance illumination. Can use both modes at the same time. Excellent search and rescue tool. Stainless steel side switches - excellent 12000 combined lumens, not 12000 per mode which is disappointing. When you read the package and see those figures and turn it on for the first time it is a bit of a let down and that's because it is only 6000 per mode. Definitely heavy for backpacking but when handheld it’s not bad at all. It doesn’t wear you out or anything like that. Excellent battery life Can run on one or more 18650 batteries in an emergency situation Battery level indictor USB discharging function, backup for digital devices as you like. When discharging, you can still use this light in Eco and Low levels on Spotlight mode. Lockable by holding both buttons If you want to do night hiking and want to see all of the trail; 100% of it this is the light for the you as the output is amazing USB-C Charging - The Type-C USB fast charging system only takes 3.3 hours to get a complete charge. CONS : Throw isn’t all that impressive in terms of brightness. Yes it throws a long distance, far further and brighter than your average flashlight but I would like to see it being even stronger. That is in my opinion the only real con other than the flashlight features a total of 12,000 lumens but that is combined and there isn’t a single mode which will over you true 12,000 lumens With gloves on you are going to do some fiddling around searching for the buttons Initial versions of this light featured incorrect SOS flashes but this has been addressed With flood on, you will barely notice the throw beam. .. This is the first part of a multi-part review and series of field tests of the Fenix LR40R V2 Search Light. I want to thank Fenix Lighting for sending me t he light and making the review posssible. This is a dedicated Search Light. Since my personal use case for lighting systems is largely wilderness Search and Rescue, this review series is targeted to professional users involved in either Search for Law Enforcement or Search and Rescue operations. The video is divided into two parts. The first few chapters discuss Features and Performance as well as the tradeoffs between weight, form factor, fuel source, carry, etc. The second part of the video is dedicated to beam shot demonstrations, all of which are taken from Law Enforcement or SAR applications. If you are already familiar with the light's features and UI, then feel free to skip the introductory chapters in the video. The video is already long, so I relied on test overlays for some information in lieu of verbal commentary. I will also provide some additional summary information in a pinned comment.
