I do not recommend recreating anything you saw in the video for any reason what so ever. Deliberately destroying a scope to try and warranty it is Not cool. Previously reviewed this red dot shows that it is well built and serves as a good optics. It has given me years of trouble free service and never gave me a doubt of its capabilities... However, I always wondered just what it would take to 'kill' it. From getting caught outside in the rain, to a unfortunate fall off a table at the range. I try to cover a few key scenarios where I felt this red dot would be used in. Then one where maybe it wouldnt. It proves (to me anyway) that it is as sturdy as one could hope their optic to be. 1/3 The cost of the average Aimpoint or EOTECH option, this red dot sight offers much of their quality (not all). Expect a 7.2 ounce sight. That's pretty light. The CR123 powered Vortex Strikefire gives you switchable red/green capabilities, night vision mode, attached waterproof/dustproof caps, and even includes your choice of high or low mounts and a 2x magnifier. The mount worked well and seemed adequately tough. Unlike some other value red dots, the tube view isn't dimmed with an overly blue or green presentation. Value is excellent at around $135 or so. Downsides include a too-easy to actuate NV mode, caps that are tough to re-seal, a dot that doesn't go bright enough for some daylight conditions and electronics not as tough probably as the mil-spec variety. But for the price you'll be hard pressed to beat the Vortex Strike Fire in 2011.////////////////////Nutnfancy Likability Scale: 8 out of 10
