Пантотеновая кислота получила своё название от греческого «пантотен», что означает «всюду», из-за чрезвычайно широкого её распространения. In this video, Dr. Berg talks about the importance of vitamin B5 (pantothenic acid) on a keto and intermittent fasting plan. B5 is needed to support enzymes for energy metabolism from carbs, protein, and especially fat. When you are in keto-adaptation, you need B5.
Vitamin B5 helps support the production of melatonin (sleep hormone), acetylcholine to help you feel awake during the day and REM sleep at night, and the production of cortisol (an adrenal hormone). If you are deficient in B5, the main symptom will be fatigue, however, it also may be inflammation, stress, and insomnia.

Pantothenic acid also known as vitamin B5 is a water soluble vitamin that is essential for metabolism of fatty acids, amino acids, and carbohydrates.
Vitamin B5 is present in all animal and plant tissue, so required intake should be met in any balanced diet. Because of this little research has been done on the impact of B5 deficiency.
The recommended amount of B5 to be consumed daily is 5 mg. For instance, ½ cup of mushrooms 2.6 mg , ½ cup of avocado 1.7 mg and one egg .77 mg provides the recommended daily amount.
The processing of whole grains eliminates the outer layer of the grain which contains the B5 vitamin. These foods are often enriched with B5 and other vitamins.

In today's video we highlight 12 facts and benefits of pantothenic acid, also known as Vitamin B5, for acne, energy production, hormones and metabolism. Vitamin B5 plays a key role in metabolising fats, carbohydrates and proteins to use as energy in the body.
Although B5 is naturally abundant in our foods, many people become deficient because they do not absorb it properly. Digestive problems and complications such as IBS, Crohn's disease, diverticulitis or IBS can prevent you from converting this into the active form.
You need a strong and healthy digestive system to digest and convert B vitamins, so you may wish to improve your diet by cutting out sugary foods, and loading up on fermented vegetables like saurkraut.
