Problems with this head unit since day one. iLX-W450 KTA-450 Kicker DSC640 co-axial speakers (4) Kicker CXA400.1 Kicker CompRT 10" ReFlex passive subwoofer 1. Audio via USB doesn't randomize, I've literally had the same song repeat 3 times in a row before. Only 350 songs on my USB device, and I am confident I have not heard at least 60% of those songs while using the USB for the entire duration of purchasing this new. Almost 3 years. This is persistent and can be duplicated within 5 songs. 2. AndroidAuto is bugged, bad. Works great until it just drops out completely. Most of the time it will reconnect and even restart Google Maps and my navigation as if nothing happened. But, the majority of the time I have to relaunch Pandora to get music playing again. Often it will throw a "Device not compatible" error. Experienced this with a couple devices, and when I installed the KTA-450 amp I replaced the USB cable that comes from the head unit as well. It bugs out no matter what. Random and cannot replicate. 3. Over the last 4 months, randomly I can get into my truck and drive when some of my speakers aren't playing. Sometimes it's just the right side working (front and rear). A few times the rear channel works, front doesn't. This morning, neither the front or rear channels worked, however the sub was working. I got in the truck after work to go home, all channels were working fine. No consistency, no way to replicate.

Watch more Car Audio 101 videos: Hi my name is Movin On, and I've been working in the field of car audio and mobile electronics for 8 over years. I've installed everything from navigation systems to full car stereo systems, remote starters, alarms, and beyond. To learn more, visit our web site at . Car amplifiers have a lot of switches and dials on the side. And a lot of the time when we see do-it-yourself installations, we see all these dials and knobs turned all the way up. This is not the proper way to tune a car amplifier. The proper way, is to first turn the gain down, turn all of the filters to off. Then, turn up the car stereo 'til it starts distorting, then back it down a little bit. Then, turn on your high pass filter, adjust it, and then go back and repeat the process. This seems to work for me, gives clear sound, makes sure the gain's at the proper level. If you turn the gain to the wrong level, you can introduce all sorts of noise to your car stereo system. We have people who come in and they step on the gas pedal and there's a whirring sound out of their engine from the speaker. That usually happens when either the amplifier is not grounded properly or when the gain is just turned up way too high. Now the way you adjust the amplifier is gonna vary depending on what type of amplifier you're using, what type of speakers you're using and what type of stereo you're connecting it to. But generally, if you use that same method, you're gonna achieve good sound in the end. Depending on your combination of amplifiers and head units, tuning the amplifier is gonna be slightly different. Some stereos you're gonna have to turn the gain up a lot. Some stereos you're not gonna have to turn the gain up more. Remember that more gain doesn't necessarily mean more volume.

I am running this amp with an aux to RCA cable from my phone. I do this because I was unhappy with the high-level inputs from the stock headunit. It was introducing alot of unwanted noise. I opted to use the aux to RCA in the meantime while I shop around for a headunit. This solution works beautifully, that is until this noise started. The noise comes and goes, if the noise decides to happen I'll just power off the amp and try next time. Sometimes it will remain for days, sometimes it'll disappear after an hour. I've tried new aux to RCA cables, I've tried different grounding points. Nothing seems to make it go away.

Решил снять что куда подключается, может кому пригодиться и будет полезно. На счет оранжевого провода, то уточняю, это для того чтобы при регулировке яркости подсветки эта же яркость регулировалась и на магнитоле, если же у вас нету данной функции в подсветке авто то этот провод можно вообще не подключать.

To start off my audio setup I got the Apline iLX-W650 infotainment system, with the additional amp so I can blast music extra loud :). Installing the iLX-W650 is pretty straightforward, but is tedious, and also having the amp requires a bit more effort, but in the end, it is worth the work. If you are installing one yourself and have any problems don't mind asking in the comments and I would be happy to help. Part 2 will be installing some aftermarket speakers to replace the crappy stock ones, and part 3 will be installing a subwoofer, and I will also be releasing a video on how to bypass the parking brake cable so you can use anything on the screen when you want to. I go over how to wire the Alpine 445u power pack, LC2i line out converter, and a sub/amp to a stock head unit. This guide is for those who have a substandard stock stereo, but wish to keep the car stock. If you follow this prescription your car will sound like it has a premium system. I had all of these things in my 2017 WRX before I replaced the HU for a Pioneer so this guide is accurate for that car (non HK) but can easily be adapted to most other cars. I recorded this video to give those who are thinking of purchasing and installing an Alpine 445 Power Pack. In the video I give a sound clip of the 2 front speakers, which are aftermarket, connected directly to the factory stereo. While the 2 rear speakers, that are factory, connected to the power pack. You'll notice the power pack makes the factory speakers sound louder. Versus aftermarket speakers connected to just factory stereo. Bottom line! If you want a louder stereo system, upgrading speakers only isn't the answer. All you need is a power pack. Thanks for watching.
